Interest in mathematics, science and astronomy grew throughout the ages. Early man was fearful of the sky, but by 230 BCE, theories about the Earth revolving around the sun and star maps emerged. The Scientific Revolution occurred in Europe between 1500 and 1700, with Isaac Newton and Nicolaus Copernicus leading the way. By the turn of the century in 1800, the world was caught up in the industrial revolution. Machinery and technology became increasingly influential, with production increasing and global trade taking off.

Today, we live in the age of digitalization, and we are more reliant on technology than ever before. We can communicate with people in another corner of the globe within a matter of seconds and we use computers to do everything from sending emails to checking the weather.

This intriguing infographic shows just far we have come, and you can’t help but wonder what the future holds.
