Once I opened the box, I was thrilled with how gorgeous my print is.  I used a high resolution picture of my children outdoors, and the colors really “pop” and it is overall just a beautiful print.  The print is sturdy, and is not thick or bulky. It comes with everything you need to hang this on your wall, including a really cute level that says “Adoramapix” on it.  The print I received was size  9.5″ x 11″ which worked out great for the area we wanted to hang it. Sizes depend on the shape you pick. This hexagon is offered in 7″x 8″, 9.5″x 11″ or 13″x 15″. Included for cleaning is a cleaning cloth, and you can use a non abrasive cleaner on this print.

The Canary Islands are a collection of islands in the Atlantic ocean. Not far from the coast of Africa. They are a popular tourist destination amongst European travellers. So I thought I would share with you some facts about some of the islands and why you should consider spending your vacation time there.

There are seven main islands, with a few smaller non habitable locations, giving you thirteen in total, making up this collection. They enjoy a wonderful climate of year round sunshine. Of course, the winter months are a little cooler, and some of the islands are breezy, but you won’t be disappointed.

A little fact is that the each island landscape is different from the other. Here is a little more about the islands.

Lanzarote

Known affectionately as the windy isle Lanzarote can capture your heart and soul. It is one of the most popular destinations to visit and with cheap family holidays to Lanzarote, it is easy to see why. It is known for its volcanic landscapes and perfect beaches for windsurfing.

Tenerife

Another popular destination for tourists and vacation goers is Tenerife. Tenerife is well-known for its volcanic black sand beaches and vibrant night-life. The resorts are a hustle and bustle with bars and restaurants.

Gran Canaria

If long stretches of white sandy beaches are more your thing, then look no further than the island of Gran Canaria. With many resorts suiting happening couples to families there is something for everyone. The duty-free shopping in Las Palmas is also worthy of a mention.

Fuerteventura

Sand dunes galore stretch out on the coastline of Fuerteventura. A more reserved choice for a quieter holiday this island is simply beautiful. With stunning beaches and perfect wind for water sports, there is a lot to do.

La Palma

This Island is the most westerly island of the collection and is the fifth largest of the main seven islands. La Palma is untouched with it’s beauty offering a more green aspect compared to the other locations.

La Gomera

This island has many hiking trails to enjoy and dense forest. A location for the thrill-seeker vacation goer that is for sure. There are white cliffs that dorne black sandy beaches. A real mix of a landscape on this island.

El Hierro

The furthest southern island this is the smallest in population. It has a beautiful coastline and unspoilt coves. It has a total population of just over 10,000 and it was the first of the Canary Islands to become totally self-sufficient.

You also have Graciosa, which can be seen in it’s entirety from a point in Lanzarote. There is also Lobos Island, Alegranza, Montana Clara, Roque del Oeste and Roque del Este. Some of these islands are inhabited and can be seen from certain points from the other islands. These will have formed during the volcanic eruptions.

There is plenty to see and do on these islands; this is why tourists go back year after year. They are worth your consideration for your next vacation.

How To Break The News That They’re To Become Grandparents!

Getting pregnant for the first time is so exciting. You will have a child that is part of you, and it’s so special. You can’t wait till tell people, but you have to wait the first three months before letting people in on your secret. When it’s time to tell people, the first people you should tell are your parents. It’s extra special if this is the first time that they will become grandparents. They will be so delighted, and will not be able to contain their excitement for the new baby. Here are some ways you can break the news to your parents that they are going to become grandparents for the first time.

 

Give them a scan

 

An excellent way to break the news is to give your parents a scan of your upcoming arrival. When you go for the scan, make sure you get a couple of copies so that you can give it to both sets of parents. Hide it in an envelope and pass it to them. They will be in for a shock when they open it and see the scan there. You could always hide it somewhere in their house, and then leave, and wait for them to call you after spotting it. Showing them a scan can be more impactful than just saying it by word of mouth.

Write them a letter

 

Another great way to tell them about you being pregnant is to write them a letter. Tell them how much you love them and that you can’t wait for them to become grandparents. A letter is something they can keep forever, and they will always remember how they found out they were about to become grandparents. You could also write a poem and send this to your parents by email. As discussed here, you don’t have to think of your own if you are not creative. Look online for a good poem about a new baby on its way and send them that. They will hopefully catch on straight away and ring you so excited.

Buy them a grandparent souvenir

 

Another exciting way to let them know that they are going to be grandparents for the first time is to buy them something with grandparents on it. It will be something they can keep forever. Don’t forget to keep your camera with you to get a shot of the moment they open it. Another fun way to inform them about the baby is to ask them to go with you to the 12-week scan. Obviously, don’t tell them it’s a scan; just say they have somewhere you would like them to come with you. They will be stunned when you pull up at the hospital, and it won’t take them long to realize why you’re there. For an extra surprise, you could always blindfold them before you bring them to the hospital. They will be stunned when you take off the blindfold, and they see where they are. They will be so pleased to share the special moment with you and don’t forget to pay for them to get their own scan picture to take home with them.  

 

Make them a photo album

 

A meaningful way of telling them about the baby is to create a photo album with pictures of you both as you was growing up. They will be emotional looking back at all the old pictures. Buy them a calendar

 

Another exciting way to break the news that they are going to become grandparents is to buy them a calendar with the date you are due circled. They may be confused when you pass them the calendar, but once they look through it, they will soon spot the date circled. The same can be done with a diary; just make sure they look through it properly otherwise they might miss it! To make the announcement extra special, you could give them a countdown clock which goes off when the baby arrives. When they open it, you can explain what the countdown is for, and they will soon be celebrating.

 

Buy them a grandparents book

 

Becoming grandparents for the first time can be so overwhelming and exciting. To help them prepare, as well as inform them it’s happening, why not buy them a grandparents book. As it says here, there are so many grandparents books around that you are sure to find one. You can then wrap it and take it around to your parents. They will be delighted when they see what it is, and they can keep it forever as a memory of when you told them you were pregnant.

 

The old fashioned way of just telling them in person is also a great way of announcing you’re pregnant!
