My Blog…

How do you grow your blog? I mean besides time and material. I starting blogging in May 2009. I wanted a big blog, like in June 2009! HaHa!
I soon relaized it takes time.
I’ve seen some blogs start and take off and are huge in less than a year. That’s awesome.
For me… it didn’t work out that way. I work outside the home 40 hours a week and this started out as a hobby for me.  My husband was just diagnosed with MS and I had a one year old. Almost three years later now, this is a second job and I love it! But it’s not a “big” blog, just my blog.
I would love to be able to work less at my “day” job and more on my blog and be able to spend more time with my children.
But back to this blogging stuff. There’s a lot more to it than just great posts.
And I don’t understand all of it, but I’m learning. There is web traffic analysis. I’ve seen some bloggers ask for more personal info from their readers in a survey to better know their audience. I should do that, right? Maybe. I’ve seen companies that ask for that info, so it’s probably handy info.
Okay and what about email marketing software? My blog sends out an mail once a day when I post. However I have received fancy emails from other bloggers and  while it’s cool, I don’t think I’m there yet. I have a list of all my subscribers and that’s enough for now.
And marketing automation? I think I have wait a long while for this one!!
Who knows, maybe I got all of this wrong, but you know what? I still love blogging. I love all the friends I’ve made in person and online. There is such a sense of community that I’ve never had before. So if I don’t make it it big, I’m okay with that.

  1. I agree that it takes more than just great posts. There has to be interaction as well.

  2. I’ve been blogging since 2004, and yes, it does take time!

  3. You have to really get out there and interact, I think that is the key. It is hard right now for me because the boys are here with me, so I devote a lot of attention to them.
