My Piano…

About two years ago or was it three, I finally got a piano! I was so excited as I had have always wanted one. We had one as a child, but my parents sold it when I was about 15. I took lessons as a young girl, but never went further with it. But I always wanted to have one.

My aunt , who lived in Pennsylvania at the time was wanting to sell her piano and my mom bought it from her to give to me! What a nice mommy!

My father brought it down to Florida and viola! I am the proud owner of a piano.

But wait? Now what?

My son was interested in taking lessons, so I signed him up. We bought all the necessary sheet music and after about 6 lessons he lost interest. I can play the songs he has (very basic) and play them on occasion for my daughter. I was looking for some Christmas sheet music and came across greatscores.com. They have a huge selection of Christmas songs, however I think I need find something more basic. I really only know the basics.

My daughter is almost five and I am hoping to get her started in lessons. Or maybe I should just take them myself!

  1. I want to get one too. I think my middle son would make a great musician.

  2. We sold our baby grand in July… but I think we’ll buy a new one next spring. My son can play the piano a little, and we bought him a guitar. He just hasn’t shown a real interest in playing, yet. 🙂

  3. I’ve played for 25 years. Sadly my skills have nosedived since the kids were born. Who has time to practice anymore? You should go for lessons yourself then you can teach the kids if they ever take an interest again.

  4. I’d love to buy a piano some day. I used to take lessons as a kid.

  5. I took piano as a child and quit because the teacher was kinda mean. lol My sister quit for the same reason! My kids played instruments all through high school though!

  6. My daughter tried the flute last year but it wasn’t a good fit for her, my oldest son started guitar lessons last year and he really loves it. He will continue for years to come!
