Need a little help getting through that rough patch in life? Consider the guidance of a life coach. He or she can help you through those tough times, whether you’re going through a really bad breakup or you’re facing a mid-life crisis. Sometimes people lack purpose, guidance and ambition in their lives and need a push in the right direction. A life coach can help with all of that, putting you on the path toward happiness and fulfillment again. These days, you don’t even have to meet with a life coach in person, at least not at first. There are online life coaching sessions you can join in on that help you restore balance to your lifeĀ—all while reducing the stresses of relationships, jobs, family, friends and more.

How Online Life Coaching Works

To unlock your true potential, sometimes all you need is someone to give you support and encouragement. No need to make an appointment and attend an in-person session, taking valuable time out of your day. Now, you can take advantage of online life coaching sessions, which help you get started on your journey to self-fulfillment through an initial 20-minute Skype conversation to assess your needs. Rather than being a formal counseling session, this initial phone call is more of a casual chat to get better acquainted. From there, you can make longer appointments that can better explore your needs, whether in 60-minute or 90-minute sessions. These meetings can occur in a standard office setting through your life coach, in a mutually agreeable public location or over the phone for the utmost in convenience.

Unlocking Your Full Potential

Perhaps you’ve fallen on hard times lately, or maybe you’re not entirely unhappy but need some direction as to where to take your life. Either way, a life coach can help you achieve your goals. This coach is not necessarily a therapist, psychologist or psychiatrist, although many are trained in marriage counseling, conflict resolution and organizational psychology, like Linzi Levinson, owner of Quality for Life Coaching. A life coach does a lot of listening, then provides advice and encouragement on how to best achieve your goals. Of the many things such a professional does is help you recognize the mistakes and bad choices you’ve made in the past and correct them so you don’t keep making them over and over again, says CNN Living. Another area of assistance is to open your eyes to ways you can seek and achieve happiness, peace of mind and passion in your day-to-day life again. This could be in your professional life, such as reinventing your career, or in your personal life such as disassociating yourself from toxic people that keep bringing you down. Another goal is to help you grow positively in your personal and work relationships, career and family life through a combination of motivation and support. Life coaching can provide you with that shot of confidence you need to accept change and start out on a new path that works for you.

Benefits of a Life Coach

When you enlist the help of an online life coach, you are well on your way to boosting your self-esteem, maintaining healthier relationships, improving your communication skills, correcting your work/home balance, and improving your overall wellness and outlook on life.

  1. This is a very good description of some of the reasons why working with a life coach can be an incredibly transformational journey. I love nothing more than seeing those that I work with completely reinvent their lives, moving from a life of difficulties and dissatisfaction to one of excitement and belief. I myself went through the darkest times, losing everything I had built over my life time, and wish I’d had a coach providing me a helping hand. Now my life is spent ensuring others have that support during their troublesome times.

  2. Life coaching is becoming more and more popular. A friend of mine does it and she recently released her first book.

  3. I feel like there are a few people I know who could really use a life coach, but having the drive and will to change is a big part of it.
