Children’s Musuem of Indianapolis Visit

We went to Indianapolis last month to visit with family and made sure to visit some of the great places of interest. One of them was the Children’s Musuem of Indianapolis.  We had a large group, as you can see above and we all had a great time! I actually visited the museum about 15 years ago with my hubby and stepsons. I spoke a little more about the Children’s Museum last month as well.

One of the first things we saw were these great works of art made from Jelly Belly jelly beans! There were several of them – very cool!

This picture was taken lying down looking up at these colored glass pieces. This was super cool! This was in the Fireworks of Glass in the lower level. We also checked out the newest exhibit The Treasure of the Earth. This exhibit large and housed the Egyptian pharaoh Seti I. The kids all took turns looking for artifacts and the was a lot of learning going on too. That same level has a train that “takes off” several times a day. Very loud, but very neat!

I think the favorite areas for both of my children were the Playscape and the Science Works. These were hands on areas that featured so many different items to play and learn with. Of course Savannah loved the Carousel as well!

We did check out Dora and Diego and Barbie. The Barbie area was just a little too old for Savannah, who is three.

We were able to bring our lunch in with us, which is a huge help considering all of the people we had with us. A loaf of bread, a pound or 2 of meat and chips and we were good to go. The cafeteria was clean and I LOVE the fact they had all of these recycling cans there!

So if you are in the Indianapolis area make sure to take some time and visit the Children’s Museum, you will not be disappointed!

I received one complimentary visit in exchange for this post. We would have went anyway and we all had a wonderful time!

I enjoy music, reading, cooking, traveling and spending time with my family. We just adopted our 3rd cat and love them all!
