Going to the sports store is always an adventure, at least with kids. (Hunter has been active in anything and everything sports related.)
Hunter’s roller blades were too small and I guess I was having a weak moment and told we could go get another pair. Secretly, I wanted a pair too. But we couldn’t just go look at roller blades, we had to look at everything!!
Hunter wants to play football, so on to the football cleats. They are expensive! We looked at all the football stuff. I don’t want want him to play. I have a feeling , I’ll lose to football one of these days.
Then on to golf! Have you seen those golf ball pick up things? They seem kinda silly, I mean just pick it up yourself, right? But it’s a good thing to have if the ball goes in the water.
Finally, we get to the roller blade section. Those are not cheap either. I should have looked on craig’s list first. We found a couple pair under $100. I even used the little app on my phone to see if I could find them cheaper somewhere else. But they were the same price at other stores.
My hubby, trained so well, asked the salesperson if he had any coupons and he said to ask the clerk at the cash register. And guess what? They did – yeah! We got $10.00 off!

Is going to the sports store an adventure for you too?
Sports gear is so expensive so yay for that last minute coupon!! 🙂 Good luck to your kiddo this year!
My son is going to be turning 4 this November and I know it won’t be long before he is wanting to play sports. I dread the cost of sports gear, but welcome the fun of watching him play!
My husband always complains that I take too long when we go shopping but he takes forever in a sports store! Now that our 5 year old is starting flag football, I’m sure we will be buying up the place.
I love the golf ball pick up things. When Hubs and I used to play together (before baby!) I’d come home with more balls than we brought by fishing them out of the water. 🙂
I knew most sports supplies were expensive but had NO idea roller blades were still around $100 (at least) holy heck! Also, I think it’s awesome your husband asked for a coupon! You’re training him well 🙂
Yay for saving some money!!
I love that you got that last minute discount!
Eeek! We aren’t there yet (our little guy is 2) but I dread the expense of sports.
