I Thought These Were Extinct? w/w

I’ve seen several lately….

I'm a mother of 2 who likes to get involved in too much! Besides writing here I started a non-profit, I'm on the PTO board, very active in my community and volunteer in the school. I enjoy music, reading, cooking, traveling and spending time with my family. We just adopted our 3rd cat and love them all!

  1. Where did you find such a relic?

  2. Those were the days…. 😉

  3. Wow! I haven’t seen one f those in so long!

  4. I did too. I haven’t seen one in ages!

  5. Yeah I haven’t seen one in a long time.

  6. I am always surprised when I see pay phones!

  7. I guess I see them by the beach and when I traveled the airport, been along time though, how much are they to use?

  8. Your right… I haven’t seen them around anymore!

  9. It will be scary when we have to explain to the kids what they are. “a loooong time ago before cell phones…”

  10. Now I’m trying to remember the last time I saw one! I know we had them in L.A. – not so much here on the East coast. Now I feel old lol

  11. Did it actually work, though? It looks like it’s been around awhile.

  12. We have them here too, but not many and they are expensive to use. Like 50 cents for 3 minutes.

  13. The common Phone Booth (Telephonius Boothium), once found across North America, is now endangered across the continent. If we fail to protect its habitat, this unique species may vanish completely. 😉

  14. That is so funny!! I cannot remember the last time I saw one 🙂

  15. I’ve think we have a couple around Knoxville. 🙂

  16. I think they are used as historical landmarks now.

  17. I see them all the time, except when I actually need one, like if my cell dies and I need to call someone. But here in Canada they cost 50c now instead of just 25c

  18. LOL. oh my gosh. I have noticed that they aren’t really around anymore. Sad too because in a real emergency and your cell phone dies convenience store workers are a pain to deal with. We had this happen to us and they complained so bad when we asked to use the phone inside the store.

  19. May they rest in peace.

  20. I think my son asked what one was once!

  21. That is awesome!

  22. They used to be everywhere, but I don’t think I’ve seen any recently.

  23. I know you seldom see them. A couple of month’s ago there was one at a local gas station but they have since removed it.

  24. I think I see one only a couple times a year!

  25. I still see them every now and again.

  26. HA! Amazing! How much does it even cost these days???

  27. I tried to find a pay phone a few weeks ago when my cellphone was dead, and I couldn’t find one! A local grocery store finally made the call for me.

  28. lol. I’ve spotted a handful over the years and every time I do I take a picture of one. Soon you’ll never see them

  29. lol I was just thinking these were extinct when I saw one with the phone removed at a gas station the other day!

  30. I’ve seen a few here in Sacramento. Those were definitely the days though.

  31. Uhm, so where do we enter our debit card? Can we download an app to pay from our Paypal account? Great find 😛

  32. haha! We have these in our casinos {there are a LOT of older people who don’t have phones and cell phone coverage in casinos are crappy at best} but I don’t think I’ve seen one anywhere else in years!

  33. Do they still work? How much is a call now? The last time I used a pay phone it was 35 cents!

  34. I thought they were too LOL. Guess not. Wonder how much it costs to make a call on one now.

  35. Wow. Those were the days.

  36. I thought so, too!

  37. I think it is always cool to see one!

  38. LOL wow, now that you say that there are not many around but there is still one at the store I frequent and even more odd is I usually see a few locals using it!

  39. Wow.. memories!

  40. LOL I can’t remember the last time I saw one either.

  41. LOL I haven’t seen one around here in forever.

  42. I watched as a pregnant mother walked to one the other day, and used it. I thought it was odd she didn’t have a cell phone or house phone. But sometimes you just never know. They are still around a lot here!

  43. Me too! LOL 🙂 Haven’t seen one in forever!

  44. I see them now and then when I’m out and about! Heck, Maroon5 even made a song about them!

  45. I guess it’s good that they’re still there in case of emergencies!

  46. I haven’t seen one in ages.

  47. I see them now and then.
