Walmart’s 12 Days of Giving

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Walmart for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

This holiday season we, my family, are doing more to help those in need. I have contacted a local organization and we have matched children to our own. My kids will go shopping and buy clothes and gifts for local kids in need. We are also helping to wrap gifts at a local fire station next month.

Walmart is also helping! Walmart will be giving a total of $1.5 million in grants to benefit local communities across the country in their 12 Days of Giving. I love keeping it local! They will provide basic need items like food, diapers, coats, baby formula, and other cold-weather clothing to those who need it.

What’s great about this campaign is we, Americans, will have an opportunity to voice which organizations they feel need support and deserve to win a portion of the $1.5 million in grants. So if you have an organization that is dear to your heart, you can vote for them!

Starting now through November 18, you can vote for local nonprofits on Facebook. Then on December 10, Walmart will start the “12 Days of Giving,” by announcing funding to the winning nonprofits that were nominated on Facebook. So make sure to vote for your local nonprofit!

All you have to do is visit the Live Better application on Walmart’s Facebook page (http://walmarturl.com/YSf01nJ) and fill out a simple form. You will need the organizations’ name, address, website and phone number. Tell them why who are nominating them and hit submit. You can add a photo if you choose as well. I choose our local United Way. We are new to the area and at the last farmers market, there were several organizations there asking for help.

I was looking for something that my whole family could help with and United Way was the only one that gave me information for my whole family. A lot of time, volunteers need to be 16 years of age or older, but I have a son 12 and daughter 4. We are super excited to be able to buy and wrap gifts for children in need this year.
