If you’re planning on travelling around Christmas time, you might want to bring some festive cheer with you on your journey. Travel-friendly gifts are ideal for explorer families. Keep in-car squabbles to the minimum by filling your loved ones’ stockings with some of these presents this year.
Noise Cancelling Headphones
Just because you’ve brought your kids along with you on your winter holiday, it doesn’t mean that you have to put up with everyone else’s. We’ve all been on that flight with the screaming baby or the fighting couple. Buy your family noise cancelling headphones this year, so they can enjoy their favourite music or the latest film in peace.
Kindle
A parent with a bookworm for a child will know the frustration that comes with packing heavy suitcases full of novels into the car. Save money on extra luggage and make your life easier by buying your bibliophile a Kindle for Christmas. If you want to purchase them something a little more all-encompassing, some tablets include a Kindle function, so shop around.
Digital Camera
When you’re enjoying fun days out with the family, you’ll want to preserve the memories. Turn everyone into a budding photographer by purchasing digital cameras this Christmas. Matched with a scrapbook, your kids can store their favourite moments of the trip and show their friends.
Binoculars
The ultimate cool present, binoculars allow your kids to get close up views of the local wildlife and scenery. Enhance your exploration of new shores with magnified vision.
Compass Necklace
Perhaps more for the girls than the boys, a steampunk, compass necklace looks not only awesome and vintage but is also extremely practical for long walks! A true explorer never leaves the house without one. A compass will look fantastic with every holiday outfit you wear.
Storm Kettle
Is your teenager useless without their morning coffee? Give them a storm kettle for a no-fuss caffeine fix on-the-go. Leave behind the complex camping stove. All you’ll need for the storm kettle is a sheet of newspaper, matches, and some twigs. The storm kettle boils water in minutes!
Selk’bag
If you’re on a camping holiday this winter (you must be crazy), get everyone a Selk’bag for Christmas. Warm and comfortable, this is a sleeping bag with a difference. A Selk’bag is ideal for people who find camping uncomfortable. Shaped to your body, you can walk around and do things easily instead of being cocooned within a traditional sleeping bag.
Totseat
Taking a toddler on holiday can be a nightmare luggage-wise. It’s amazing how much equipment and provisions a little one needs! Leave the high chair at home with the totseat. This cloth harness attaches safely and easily to adult chairs, keeping your baby secure at meal time.
Shewee
Not the most glamorous stocking-filler, but largely practical, the sheewee makes squatting down in the bushes a thing of the past. Now ladies too can have the convenience of answering the call of nature easily.
Great suggestions!
I especially like the first three ideas!
These are great tips!
My husband won a Kindle Fire at his work Christmas Party! We’re giving it to our daughter for Christmas! She’s been wanting one for ever!
That’s awesome!
Digital cameras are a must have!
Camera is one at the top of my list.
Great list!
Great list! I am all for noise cancelling headphones!
Well thought out list.
The kindle is a great idea. We traveled last year to see my brother graduate boot camp and my son’s leap pad was a LIFESAVER. It kept him entertained and he didn’t cause a fun at all.
Those were some great suggestions. I am thinking of getting my daughter a Kindle since she flies to Texas a few times a year.
I agree w/the kindle and headphones!

Great list, I have never heard of a Shewee until now.
The noise canceling headphones sound great, I need that for when I visit my family for the holidays LOL
I’ve always wanted a Kindle for travelling, but I have an iPad so it seems like a waste to invest in a kindle.
You know I’m going to have to look up the Shewee just to see what that looks like. lol
A kindle is a great gift choice. I love mine.
As in cancel the noise from the kids? LOL great ideas thanks.
