I am a big fan of buying second hand. Every since I was young and my sister would take me thrift store shopping for vintage or cool clothes, I was hooked. I still go thrift store shopping to this day. I take my mom and cousin and we go from store to store. Our favorite one is in St. Augustine called Alpha-Omega Thrift Store. I look for everything – clothes, sports equipment, purses and books! I love books, so I always check out the book section. When I got married I even bought my veil at a thrift store on Palm Beach! I had it dyed to match my dress and it was beautiful!
Now with computers and everyone buying on line there are several places to purchase used items. One place is Quicksales. I love this idea, as online classifieds stores have everything you want, all on one website: tools, clothes, toys, phones and so much more. It’s also beneficial for the environment to buy second hand. Think of all those items not going into the dumps. The items are still useable; they just need a new loving home!
Just walking around the neighborhood this morning I saw so many things that people just throw away. Please don’t throw it away! Donate it, give it away, or make some money and sell it!
I love to buy things secondhand. You can get some amazing deals and most of the time it’s things that are barely used.
I used to love going thrift shopping back in high school, you could find almost anything in a thrift store.
I love thrifting! You never know what treasures you’ll find.
It is amazing at how much stuff we just discard. Buying from a thrift shop is a great way to “recycle.”
We go to our local thrift stores for pretty much anything clothing related (we have 3 in our town!) and we give things away on the trucks that come through every month, whenever my kids hear the words: “there’s a giveaway truck coming” some groan but, others bounce up and say “mommy can I giveaway this? this? ect, ect….” 🙂
I always forget about thrift shops…you can find some great stuff in there.
I love second hand. And vintage. Oh, how I adore vintage. You can find some great deals if you spend the time looking.
I buy secondhand all the time. In fact, there are very few things I don’t at least try to buy secondhand. I will definitely have to add this store to my secondhand shopping list!
We do a lot of second hand purchasing … usually with furniture. 🙂
The thrift stores near me are always hit or miss so I haven’t been going much since I’m usually toting along a less-than-willing 4 year old, but he starts school next week so I’m excited to start having some “me time” at thrift stores! They’re so much fun.
I don’t shop as much as I sell or donate. But I believe it definitely helps the environment, and other families get what they need at a cheaper price tag.
shopping for second hand stuff always meant spending time hunting for a good buy! I love that challenge!
I tend to focus on furniture and books when I buy secondhand. I need to broaden my horizons and look for more items at secondhand stores.
I buy second-hand all of the time, especially clothes! I hardly ever pay full price for clothes, unless it’s at a dirt cheap price to begin with. 🙂
It really is, I need to look more for things like that!
I like to buy second hand. My teens can find great, brand name clothes at the Salvation Army store when they take the time to really look.
I love to buy secondhand furniture and refinish it. It’s a great way to save money and make a custom painted piece.
I haven’t been to many thrift stores, but I love to go garage saling, and have garage sales. The things you can find are amazing. I just hate throwing good things away.
I am a good thrift store shopper – I’ve even found things with tags!!
We will occasionally buy secondhand, but it isn’t too often.
I don’t go to thrift stores often but I love to go to yard sales and purchase items from Facebook from other sellers. I see no reason not to buy secondhand. It’s sure saved me money throughout the years.
I rarely throw stuff away either. I’ll either have a yard sale, sell it on Facebook, or donate it to Ladies of Charity, a local charity that then gives the items to needy people for free.
