About a month or two before Christmas I start saving all sorts of boxes. Boxes that come in the mail, cereal boxes, cracker boxes and anything else I think I can use. I never buy boxes unless they’re 75% off but I haven’t done that in years.
I wrapped the rest of my gifts today and as you can see I really do use them! 🙂
Shirts and shorts fit perfectly in these.
Do you recycle your boxes?
Sometimes I do. But my husband will intervene if they get to piled up. 🙂
What a fantastic idea! I would much rather reuse boxes than have to purchase more. Plus, my kids would get a kick out of seeing which box their clothes or toys came in.
We recycle shipping boxes we receive but not usually food or other commercial boxes. We like them to be sturdy for shipping.
I usually recycle all of my boxes but unfortunately my husband usually tosses most of them out.
I normally don’t recycle boxes, but it’s a wonderful idea. 🙂
We re-use boxes a lot at Christmas to wrap gifts too, but I never thought of using cereal boxes!
I’ve been teaching my son how to recycle… he loves cereal this is a good idea.
It’s so important to recycle during the holidays as that’s when we get the most boxes and paper.
We actually save the boxes each year and keep them in a storage bin for next Christmas. This is a great way to recycle boxes!
We recycle all of our food cartons by breaking them down and allowing the recycling crew to pick them up once every two weeks but I love this creative idea. I should really save a few for craft projects.
