We Are Getting a Puppy!

I’ve been thinking about getting a puppy for a while now. I’ve been researching and looking online at local shelters. Recently I saw our local shelter had a litter of 9 puppies that were available for pre-adoption. My husband and I decided to go down and check them out. There were several other families looking for puppies as well. I guess puppies get adopted quickly.

We ended up choosing a sweet puppy and will be going to get her today!

The kids are very excited and so am I , although I’m a little nervous as I’ve never owned a puppy as an adult. I’ve had cats and we still have 3 cats. I’m hoping everyone will get along just fine.

We are still working on a name for our new sweet baby.

Any puppy advice?

  1. Congrats! We got our dog as a puppy around the same time last year and he is so much a part of our family. I’m excited for you!

  2. 🙂 Aww she’s so cute! No pets here, so I wouldn’t be much help giving you advice. I’m sure your daughter is going to love on her though!

  3. Ohhhh she’s so cute!! Just be sweet with her, love her very much, teach her to be a good dog and just remember she isn’t a toy! 😛

  4. So darn cute! Get ready it’s like adding a kid to the family! Puppies are the best!

  5. Oh my gosh, I remember the puppy days. They’re so much fun and a lot of work too. You’re going to love it all though!

  6. He is so adorable! I’m in the same boat as you, as I have never owned a puppy as an adult before. My best advice is to buy potty pads for the inevitable, if you haven’t already! 🙂

  7. So sweet! I don’t have any real advice other than to make sure you set up good habits early. That whole thing about not teaching old dogs new tricks has a lot of truth.

  8. Aww, so adorable! I’m looking forward to seeing pictures.

  9. Yay for animals! I love my pets, they are all spoiled brats of course. Make sure to establish that you’re the boss and stick to routines.

  10. What a little sweetie! We adopted our Harvey at 8 weeks old and it was one of the best decisions we ever made for our family. What did you wind up naming her?
