We have been in the market for a home camera system. I was asked to review a home camera called SHIELDeye SmartCam and I was excited to try it out.

The monitoring area can be displayed on the mobile devices via downloading the iOS/Android App. Users are able to view the live camera video from smartphones or tablets anywhere without any restriction. The PC version can be installed with attached disc in the box.
You can see all the functions available on the app. Very useful.
We set up the camera via cable and then via wireless. Both work great. Setup was very easy, we have iPhones and the App works great. The video feed is quick with minimal lag. The intercom option it has is nice but it is slightly muffled. I love that you can make the live feed brighter or darker depending on what you like. My kids love when I am upstairs and talk to them through the intercom. The photo and recording options are great. Overall this is a great camera for home use at a great price.

We have a house alarm, but I would LOVE a security camera in addition to that. This one sounds awesome.

This sounds like a great security camera. Its wide angle would be able to monitor my kitchen and my living room at the same time.

I really want a cam like this, especially since I live in a relatively large home. I can’t always hear things or I am just wicked OCD ya know 😉 I do love this idea for when I go on a road trip or at least just check it out to feel cool 🙂 It is a neat contraption!

This sounds like a really nice camera. It’s really nice to have a home camera. I check on our house when we’re out. Many times all I see is our dog sleeping. LOL It’s still cool to have though.
