We love doing movie night, although it gets harder to do as my 12 year old wants to stay outside and play. But we do manage a few every now and then.

Our latest family movie was The Jungle Book: Rumble in the Jungle. This movie was put out by Phase 4 Films. It’s the original movie I remembered from my childhood.

I started our night by making home made pizzas. I have decided that I will not do that again. My children just don’t seem to like the homemade kind…..

Onto the movie…( With the movie, we received these cute Mowgli masks)

Mowgli is the little boy raises by wolves, but he’s going up. The Jungle Book: Rumble in the Jungle is full of adventure and music. It is a full length movie only available at Walmart stores. The movie also comes with a downloadable activity kit, slide show and exclusive, collectible Mowgli and Baloo figurines.

Mowgli keeps trying to prove himself to the other animals in the jungle. The first time he challenges the main wolf to a race. Even though Mowgli could win, he stops and helps………so he doesn’t get eaten by the lions. Then Mowgli is off the find the wisest of all the animals. He then concludes he is the wisest until he falls into a well. The adventures continue with fun and music.

I thought this was a cute movie, a little on the boy side, as my daughter wasn’t too impressed. She more into fairies and princesses. I’m going to see if my neighbor’s son would like to watch it.

I received the above movie pack and gift card to Walmart to make a fun family movie night. Opinions are my own.

RSV Awareness #RSVProtection

122_122

I am a worrier. I was worse when my little ones were younger. There are so many germs that our little ones can come in contact with. Both of children attend daycare full time, so they were always around other children that were sick.

RSV Awareness is being talked about more and more, which is great! The more people are aware the more they can tale precautions.

So how can you keep you children healthy and germ free?

Wash your hands frequently. I tell my children to wash every time we come home from a store, even if we used a wipe in the car.

No smoking allowed. Smoking around babies is a non anyway. My mother used to smoke when my children were little. When she visited she had to change into a shirt that I kept at my house. and wash her hands.

Wash baby toys and bedding often. I used to always see the caregivers at ,y daughter’s daycare washing the toys., It always made me feel good about her being there.

Stay away from crowds. Keep your babies away from large crowds and anyone who is sick. Just this past month I stayed home for a gathering because their children were sick and I don’t have any young babies!

Click here to download the RSV Awareness fact sheet. There is a lot of great information on this sheet. Did you know that almost every baby under 2 will have contracted RSV, but only 1/3 of their moms have even heard about it? Symptoms are similar to a seasonal cold.

Symptoms to watch for are runny nose and decreased appetite, coughing, sneezing and fever. Wheezing or difficulty breathing may occur.

Most children will recover fine in 1 to 2 weeks, but babies born premature or who have lung or heart problems may require hospitalization.

Please check out RSVProtection.com to find out more information on how to prevent the virus.

Our Listerine Challenge

Taking care of my teeth hasn’t really been a huge challenge of me, or so I thought. I go to the dentist twice a year and brush twice a day.
Since our move I had to find a new dentist for myself and my children. In doing so I found a dentist that told me I had a ton of problems with my teeth and had to have some work done. I refuses the work and called my old dentist and they told me to get a second opinion. I am so glad I did!
I do not need to have all the things done, but the new dentist did tell me to I needed to floss everyday, instead of whenever I felt like it and he suggested am electric toothbrush.
My son has some issues about brushing his teeth and whenever he goes in they have to scrape off lots of tarter. He brushes but does not like to brush around his gums and there is always “stuff” left on his teeth.
So…I am excited to be taking the Listerine 21 Day Challenge. This is perfect because my son has an appointment at the end of February and I at the beginning of March.

We got this huge box from Listerine with all kinds of tools to help us with our challenge. My son and daughter are already claiming their toothbrushes!

Did you know that there are more germs in your mouth than people on Earth?  http://www.dentistrytoday.com/todays-dental-news/5596-mouth-contains-more-germs-than-total-number-of-people-on-earth That is just amazing!

What’s awesome is that for every person who signs up for the challenge on Facebook, the LISTERINE® Brand will contribute to Oral Health America’s Smiles Across America® program. Their goal is connecting up to 210,000 children with needed oral health services in 2013.

So what are you waiting for? Sign and take the challenge!!
I received products to help in out challenge. Opinions are my own.
