I received a small envelope collection kit in the mail. When I opened it, it included the cat DNA kit, thorough instructions, 2 really cute decal stickers and a return envelope. All and all it looked and seemed a very easy process.

When you receive your kit it will instruct you to log in and activate it. Once you create your cat’s profile you can add a photo of your cat and also type up a little story about your furry friend. Then it will prompt you to activate your kit. Your activation code can be found in your kit you received. Once you enter the code and save, you are done with that part! Now comes collecting your cat’s DNA.

My kit contained only tape for the hair, no mouth swab. I had my husband hold Scarlet so I could collect the hair. It was easy and painless to her. Once completed I followed instructions how to put it in the envelope. I then mailed it off! The instructions say the company will notify me once they receive it. The process was so simple!

I am so excited to receive the results! Once I do I will be doing another review on Scarlet’s results. We will be anxiously waiting!

TECHNOADDICTION IN TEENS AND THE USE OF PARENTAL CONTROL APP!

Teens blow their thumbs on the screens of their smartphones more often. But what effect does this unprecedented behaviour have on teens?

A team of researchers from the NGO Common Sense Media has wanted to deepen this issue. To do this, they conducted a survey and asked 1,240 parents and adolescents between the ages of 12 and 18 to fill a questionnaire to follow up on the consequences of this massive use of mobile devices in their lives and in their relationships with others.

The data revealed that half of the adolescents said they felt addicted to the mobile phone and 60% of the parents felt the same. In spite of whether the parents thought if their children were mobile addicts or not, 66% considered that they spent too much time with the smartphone; in the case of adolescents, 52% saw it that way too.

In addition, 77% of parents agreed that their children were continually distracted – at least three times a week – due to the use of mobile phones.

Almost 80% of young people admitted that they reviewed or checked their notifications on the mobile phone at least every hour and 72% confirmed that they felt the need to respond to messages received on social networks almost immediately after receiving them.

Moment for a pause, but with caution

The phenomenon of mobile addiction is relatively recent, so there is no official diagnosis in this regard. However, psychologists warn about negative reactions of young people if this “object of desire” is removed very abruptly in order to eliminate this addiction. Hence, they suggest parents to make smart move such as using the parental control app like FamilyTime.
