Yesterday was exactly a week that we have been in the new house. I unloaded about seven more boxes just yesterday. It’s amazing how much stuff we have, kind of ridiculous really.
(all that clutter on the island is going to drive me insane!)
How does one family accumulate so much?
The move was a little rough….Not everything fit into the truck, so we had to get a trailer and then it still didn’t fit. We left some stuff behind, threw away some stuff and put 2 car loads into storage. Yes – we still have stuff in storage in our old home town. Ughh!
We got to the new house around 9:30pm last Thursday and my husband went out to Walmart and bought some blow up mattresses to sleep on. I wanted to stay at the house with the kittens as opposed to a hotel room.
Friday, when the men came to unload the truck, we had the painter here as well, painting the house! It was a hectic, but good day.
(look how cute Savannah’s room turned out!)
Now a week later, we are settling in. Hunter started his new school and likes his new teachers and friends. He likes playing the woods. 🙂 Savannah is getting used to the house and being home with mommy. I feel like I should be working, but am enjoying my time with Savannah.
Savannah will start VPK, a state funded pre-kindergarten, in August and I may go back to work then, if not sooner. I am so not use to being home all this time. But it’s good I have the time to unpack and meet the neighbors.
The garage has the most boxes to unpack. I’m holding off on most of this, until we can get some more shelving. We also need to get a dining room table and a TV for the living room.Oh and a bed for Savannah.
My favorite part of the house? My foyer, silly…but at the old house I never had one. The front door opened into the living room. I love this!
We found a table at Pier One that we both like…. what do you think?
It’s kinda an old farmhouse type table, that could seat up to eight people. I like it cause it doesn’t have a leaf in it and it’s kinda simple. They have some really cool chairs too.
