My New Ceiling, Finally!

This is what our ceiling has looked like for 3 years!! A “friend” came and gave us a quote to remove our popcorn ceiling and asked for 1/2 deposit ($450). He came and did this and never came back.

My husband was diagnosed with MS a few months later and we never had the money to repair it.

Until now….

We finally got it repaired and painted!! That was a big ordeal too, though. The guy who removes the popcorn, does not paint the ceiling. We thought he did. Then we had to wait about a week in limbo until the painter came. We did use “green” paint though! Yeah!

Ugghh!! I’m so glad that’s over.  But… we are painting our walls and this painter hasn’t returned our calls. So… on to another mess!

Life is a roller coaster!!

I Finally Got my Ring!

My hubby and I will be married for 15 years in October. When we were dating I wore gold jewelry, so naturally I received a gold engagement ring. We also choose gold wedding bands, makes sense, right? A few years later I switched to silver jewelry and stopped wearing my gold wedding band and engagement ring. I felt bad not wearing them, but I really didn’t like them anymore.

I told my husband that for our 10 year anniversary I wanted new wedding bands and wanted to switch my diamond to white gold. So I started shopping….

There are so many places to look and so many designer engagement rings out there! At Since1910.com you pick and choose everything you want. One stone, two stones, really there is a lot to choose from. So while I did check out Since1910.com engagement rings, we ultimately got ours at the local mall.

I had to wait for another two years until I finally got them, but it was worth it! I got my diamond switched to white gold and picked out an anniversary band to wear as my wedding band. My hubby also picked out a new band in white gold. He still likes yellow gold, but he really likes his new band and now we both wear them proudly!

Chick-fil-A Family Fun!

I mentioned last week that you could get a free Chick-fil-A meal if you dressed like a cow. I wanted to share some of our pics. We were on the way to the airport, finishing our Indiana trip and we all met up at the local Chick-fil-A. We had a lot of fun!

Did you go this year?

Chevy and a Day of Pampering

On Thursday myself and a few other moms had a fun day of pampering, thanks to Chevy.

We met at the Maroone Chevy dealership in Ft. Lauderdale. We filled out some paperwork and got to know each other a little better. Then we were taken to four Chevy cars to drive to the next destination. I drove the Equinox, shown above. What a smooth ride! I loved it! Each of the cars had Onstar, which is new to me. Onstar wasn’t able to hear my directions, so it dialed a live operator for me. The operator was super nice.

Then it was off to Contour Day Spa for some beautifying! We had our hair washed and blown out. Then we had our make up done by some experts. The staff was super nice!

Above the spa was Dr.G Weight Loss clinic where we took a little tour and got some goody bags. I love the clinic concept. You are seen my a MD and a complete work up is done to find out what you need and don’t need.

The next stop – Carrabbas! We got to sit and relax and do some more socializing. The food was wonderful! the desserts cam in little shot glasses, so we didn’t over indulge. 🙂

Colleen (Shibley Smiles) and I drove in the new Chevy Volt. The Volt is a battery car that can last on 40 miles commute then gently switches over to gas. This would be great for me as I only ravel about 40 to and from work everyday. Which would mean no gas!

Finally we were off the Boca Mall for some fun dancing and activities. No we didn’t dance, but it was fun to watch some professionals and some not so professionals dance. Some of the girls even won some prizes!!

Over all we really had a great time and I got to meet some great women. I want to thanks Chevy for chauffeuring us around town and for hosting a wonderful event!
