Disney’s Animal Kingdom

We received 2 tickets to Disney..

Disney's Animal Kingdom

We were invited to visit Walt Disney World and since we’ve been to the Magic Kingdom several tomes lately we choose to visit Animal Kingdom. I’m not sure my daughter has ever been there and I was hoping that it would intrigue my 13 year old son.

Wilderness Explorers

Of course since it was my daughter’s birthday weekend she had her Disney Birthday Pin on so every employee told her “Happy Birthday” all day long.

The first stop was the Wilderness Explorer Station. Savannah got a badge and booklet to collect additional badges in. The badges station are all throughout Animal Kingdom.

It's Tough to be a Bug

The next stop was It’s Tough to Be a Bug. This is a great attraction and so fun! Little ones might be a little frightened but I’d say ages 4 and up will love it. Ten years ago my son was so scared I had to take him out. He was three. Basically it’s a wonderful 3-D movie and there is water, mist and fog that comes up from the seats in front of you. Then at the end the “bugs’ crawl out underneath your bottom!

Animal Kingdom

After It’s Tough to be a Bug, Savannah got her first explorer badge by learning more about bugs.

Kilimanjaro Safaris

Then it was off to the Kilimanjaro Safaris! This is always a fun ride for everyone! You ride in an open-air vehicle for a tour of a lush African savanna. Where you can see exotic animals like lions and elephants. Savannah pretended to be afraid…

Affection Station

The Affection Section is a wonderful place where you can pet the animals. You have to take the Wildlife Express Train to get there. Trains are always a fun way to travel. At the Affection Section you can see Goats, Sheep, Donkeys, Cows and Pigs. There are brushes to brush the animals and food to feed them.

The goats were enjoying my husband’s cane. Not sure what made that popular but they really liked it!

Disney's Animal Kingdom

The final stop was The Boneyard. My daughter had a blast playing on all the slides and structures.

The Boneyard

Being the little diva that she is she had to strike a pose…

Despite the fact that it was a cold day we had a great time. How can you not have a great time at Disney?

Have you been to Animal Kingdom lately?

Disney’s Minnie-rella on DVD Feb 11th

MMCH_Minnie_Rella_DVD_BoxArt

We were sent the new Mickey Mouse Clubhouse: Minnie-rella DVD to check out. It comes out today, February 11th,  so if you need a Valentine’s Day gift for your little one this would be perfect!

First I have to tell you I was a little excited about watching this. It looks so cute and we watched Mickey Mouse Clubhouse: Minnie’s The Wizard of Dizz not too long ago and loved it, so I knew this would be good too!

The movie starts off with the gang wanting to get something special for Minnie. But they can’t go shopping with Minnie around so they all gave her chores to keep her busy. Of course Minnie can’t say no to her friends. Minnie falls asleep and dreams that her fairy god-mother visits her and tells her she should go to King Mickey’s Ball. Minnie’s animal friends help her make a beautiful dress. Then the fairy god-mother transforms a tomato in a carriage and Goofy drives her to the ball.

Minnie gets to the ball and dances with King Mickey, which embarrassed my daughter a bit….Then midnight came and Minnie ran away leaving behind one of her glass slippers. The carriage turned into a pizza. And King Mickey finally finds Minnie and they live happily ever after.

Then Minnie wakes up and finds her friends have surprised her with a pair of glass slippers as a gift!

I liked that there were no wicked step sisters or stepmother. The movie was very cute and I would recommend it for anyone who loves Disney.

Mickey Mouse ClubHuse Pop Up Castle

After the movie I noticed that there was an activity inside the DVD case. My daughter immediately says, “Oh yeah, they said that would be in there”. She saw the commercial announcing that there is a paper castle to put together inside the movie. So we spent some time putting that together as well.

See this clip below. For some reason my daughter got all embarrassed when they danced.

The Mickey Mouse Clubhouse: Minnie-rella DVD comes packaged with the full-length adventure, a FREE Castle Play Set, 3 additional Mickey Mouse Clubhouse episodes and 10 Minnie’s Bow-Toons Shorts!

You can watch the show on TV on Friday, February 14, 2014 at 9:00 a.m., ET/PT on Disney Channel and 5:30 p.m., ET/PT on Disney Junior

Pluto’s Tale – In Pluto’s very first fairytale adventure, we help Prince Pluto rescue Princess Bella from the clutches of sneaky Wizard Pete.

Mickey and the Enchanted Egg – Mickey finds an egg which soon hatches into a Baby Dragon. Mickey and his friends have to return the Dragon back to her castle home and convince the powerful Wizard Pete that they didn’t steal the egg in the first place.

Daisy’s Pony Tale – When Professor Von Drake’s new invention, a Fritzer-Spritzer Spray Potion, accidentally gets spritzed on Daisy’s ponytail, it makes her hair grow super long! That’s not goody-good at all. Along with Mickey and Sire Goofs-a-Lot, Daisy travels on her pony to find twelve leaves of the magical plant, Rapunzel, in order to reverse the effects of the Professor’s potion and fix her ponytail.
