Easy Summer Project…

Over spring break I made bird feeders with Savannah. This is something that can be done during the summer too!
We went to our park and found several pine cones. I gathered birdseed, peanut butter, honey and some yarn. I mixed the peanut butter and honey together, then rolled a pine cone into the mixture. The pine cone was then rolled into the birdseed and the yarn attached. Viola!

Our squirrels enjoyed it more than the birds!

Ecosmart – Organic Home Pest Control Giveaway

Remember my previous review of organic bug control? Well it’s time for the giveaway!!

A little bit about Ecosmart from the website:
Ecosmart’s products are based on the natural defenses that plants and trees have used for their self protection against insects and pathogens for millenia – essential oils.Since EcoSMART’s proprietary botanical oil blends attack attributes that are specific only to pests, they have no effect on people, pets or the environment.
I love the idea of a natural ant killer and organic home pest control products. I’m tired of spraying nasty stuff around my house and kids.

Ecosmart would like to offer one Mommy Has to Work reader a value bundle – which includes a number of different products for different uses.

To enter tell me which value bundle you would pick and why.

I’m always looking for green and eco-friendly companies to share with you. I came across
Green Baby Outlet while twittering away one day and I was able to review one of their wooden puzzles for my little one. The Green Baby Outlet is a family owned business, located in Chicago, Illinois. They have two toddlers of their own and know how important it is to have safe and natural products for kids that are affordable and of the highest quality.

Green Baby Outlet has a variety of eco-friendly items. Look at the dress above – isn’t that so cute! They toys, baby clothes and bedding, feeding items, bath items and gifts.

From the website:

Earth Baby Review

Looking for eco friendly products I came across Earth Baby. Earth Baby Organics has many products made just for your baby. I was able to try the Organic Tiny Bubbles Baby Shampoo. What a delight! It had a light, wonderful smell, kinda like coconut. A little bit went a long way and there was no tears! The shampoo went all over Savannah’s face once or twice and she didn’t seem to mind!

Why buy Earth Baby?

• hypoallergenic
• tear free
• certified organic ingredients
• pediatrician recommended
• OleoSpheres™ technology
• manufactured in the U.S.A.

A lttle bit about the shampoo from the website:

Baby Shampoo leaves hair fresh to the core. You will love our rich and creamy, tear-free formula that leaves baby’s hair clean and manageable in all weather. Our pH-balanced, organic shampoo has a gentle chamomile, vanilla, honey, and apple blend so there will not be any tears during or after bath time … just silky shine all of the time.

A lttle bit about the owner:
Inspired by the birth of her granddaughter, Alyssa, nationally renowned researcher and chemist, Florence Nacino, founded Earth Baby to offer a new generation of hypoallergenic baby care products to cleanse, protect and nourish baby’s delicate hair and sensitive skinEarth Baby’s simple philosophy:

About the company:

•Use the best organic, fruit and vegetable-based ingredients to formulate the most effective hypoallergenic hair and skin care products for babies.
•Give a portion of profits to charities to support orphaned children and medical missions that provide free surgery to needy children.
•Support the Tarsier Foundation to protect the endangered Tarsier monkey, the smallest in the world. Those monkies are so cute!

Zola Goods Review and Giveaway

the winner is mandalarctic

“You may never know what results come from your action, but if you do nothing there will be no result.” – Mahatma Ghandi

While looking for green products to share with my readers, I came across Zola Goods. Zola – The art of living green. You can purchase products from their website, host a party, that sounds like fun, or become a Zola Coordinator.

Zola, of Italian origin, means “piece of earth.” By making small changes, each of us can heal our own piece of earth and together create an abundant future for our planet. We believe that when people know better, they do better.

When adding products to their product line the products have to pass the test using the 3Ps criteria- People, Planet, Profit. The products need to enhance people’s lives and be made under fair working conditions. The products need to have been made with fewer chemicals or less energy than other commercial alternatives. And last, the products need to provide an opportunity for an independent Zola Coordinator to earn money as well as be a profitable product for Zola. A company dedicated to sustainable living also has to ensure that it can sustain itself in order to continue its mission.

There are so many products to choose from too! There are light bulbs, composting products, recycled items, gift items and gift wrap. Zola also carries kits for planting flowers and herbs, clothing and so much more. If I didn’t have so many other things going on, I’d sign up to be a coordinator. I tried selling Mary Kay, but it didn’t work so good for me, but this I could really talk to people about. Maybe I will sign up. I love the products and love talking to people about going green. We’ll see.

Barbara from Zola Goods sent me this wonderful t-shirt. It’s very soft and feels so good. She would like to send one to a Mommy Has to Work reader. Zola “find the good” organic cotton t-shirt will quickly become your favorite t-shirt.
