I'm a mother of 2 who likes to get involved in too much! Besides writing here I started a non-profit, I'm on the PTO board, very active in my community and volunteer in the school. I enjoy music, reading, cooking, traveling and spending time with my family. We just adopted our 3rd cat and love them all!
I love Shutterfly.
I tell everyone I can how much I love Shutterfly!
I buy several photo books every year. One for the whole year’s photos and at least one or two for whatever trips we might have taken that year. I buy a wall calendar every year and sometimes some to give away for presents. I get my pictures printed there, buy mugs, magnets and definitely Christmas Cards!! And the last two years I made Savannah’s birthday invites there too.
I can’t wait to make wonderful gifts for my stepson and his future wife. I think they would really appreciate a photo book of their wedding.
Are you thinking that making a photo book is too hard? Think again! It really is not hard to do. It’s really the best gift ever!! That’s what my stepson told me the day I gave him a photo book of our family from out trip to Indiana. He said, “This is the best gift I ever received.”
Check the You Tube video “Shutterfly Photo Books: The Best Gift Ever” and see what it’s all about.
My kids always love looking through our photo books.

I blew it during Thanksgiving.
I’m kinda bummed but figured if I did it once, I can do it again!
But wait? Christmas is coming and so are all those Christmas cookies!!
Here to help are some Healthy Holiday Eating Tips by Dr. May. She says we need to have “mindful eating”.
Eat What You Love -Break your eat-repent-repeat cycle this year. If your diet is too restrictive, you may experience feelings of deprivation and increased cravings, leading to overheating and guilt. -Instead of rigid rules, practice balance, variety and moderation: Balance eating for enjoyment with eating for nourishment. Eat a variety of foods for interest and nutrition. Enjoy all your favorites in moderation. Love What You Eat -Mindful eating is eating with intention and attention: with purpose and awareness. For example, set an intention to feel better when you’re done than when you started. Eat with attention by minimizing distractions (TV, computer) and focusing fully on the experience of eating. -Make eating a multi-sensory experience: appreciate the appearance, aromas, textures and flavors as you eat. Do What You Love -Exercise shouldn’t be punishment for eating. -Discover the physical activities that you enjoy and fit into your lifestyle. -Being active is a great way to spend time as a family. Resources –For nutrition information, check out eatright.org. -For mindful eating information, visit AmIHungry.com Here is a video of an interview I did with Dr. May via email.
Here were my questions:
What is the “eat-repent-repeat” cycle. How can I avoid it?
It’s hard to limit food when there is so much good food to eat? Any suggestions?
What’s a good way to work off those extra calories during the holidays..
