Bagnesia Review and Giveaway

I hear many people say they don’t use their reusable bags because they forgot them. I usually keep several in my car so I always have one on hand. But there are days when I don’t have them and forget. Pam and Caprice came up with a great idea to help everyone remember their bags. People want to be ecologically and socially responsible. Using even one less plastic bag CAN make a difference in the future of our world. Caprice was visiting Pam and they were teasing each other about their reusable bag amnesia. Each of them wanted to use their reusable bags but could never remember to do so. So they came up with Bagnesia.

Bagnesia is Eco-Friendly Shopping Kits and Accessories to help you remember your reusable bags every time you shop! Bagnesia is committed to helping people live more lightly on the earth, by simply remembering to use their reusable bags. Plastic bag waste is greatly impacting our environment see their website for important information regarding this matter. We need to reinforce the cycle of taking our reusable bags from the house, to the car, into the store and back again. Bagnesia’s solution to that problem is a kit designed to remind everyone of that eco-friendly cycle.
Some of their kits come with a door hanger and a steering wheel cover that say “Grab your bags”. The steering wheel cover is about 4-5 inches long, it won;t cover the whole thing, just enough to remind you. They also have a key chain reminder. Below are pictures of their produce bags. I love these! We go to the local fruit stand and always come home with the little plastic baggies. My husband says, “I always take the cloth bag”, but he still uses the little plastic ones. Not anymore!

The bags are really lightweight too! I carry a small purse and it folds up and fits nicely in my purse. I love these things!

Bagnesia has kindly offered one Mommy Has to Work reader a Solution Kit ( like the one seen above). To enter visit www.bagnesia.com and tell me something you learned from their site.

Earth Baby Review

Looking for eco friendly products I came across Earth Baby. Earth Baby Organics has many products made just for your baby. I was able to try the Organic Tiny Bubbles Baby Shampoo. What a delight! It had a light, wonderful smell, kinda like coconut. A little bit went a long way and there was no tears! The shampoo went all over Savannah’s face once or twice and she didn’t seem to mind!

Why buy Earth Baby?

• hypoallergenic
• tear free
• certified organic ingredients
• pediatrician recommended
• OleoSpheres™ technology
• manufactured in the U.S.A.

A lttle bit about the shampoo from the website:

Our pH-balanced, organic shampoo has a gentle chamomile, vanilla, honey, and apple blend so there will not be any tears during or after bath time … just silky shine all of the time.

A lttle bit about the owner:

Wubbzy Goes Green Review and Giveaway

Just in time for Earth Day! A great way to teach our children the importance of going green and how to improve the environment. Wubbzy Goes Green DVD. Kids will learn how to pitch in and help make the Earth a better place, alongside their favorite Wuzzleburg friends.

I received the all new Wubbzy Goes Green DVD for review, from The Product Review Place. Now, my daughter hasn’t gotten into Wubbzy yet and my son is older and watches different shows now, but both sat down and watched the new DVD. Both enjoyed the DVD. Of course, I watched too. The DVD is really a great way to teach kids about the environment. One episode showed how knocking down the forest to build a playground impacted the animals that lived there. Wubbzy and friends had to find other places for the animals to live. Another showed how fancy water bottles created a lot of trash. Wubbzy and his friends came up with unique ways to recycle the bottles.

The new Wubbzy Goes Green DVD just came out this month in honor of Earth Day! Anchor Bay is working with Alliance for Community Trees and for every DVD sold Anchor Bay will donate $1 to ACT to help support the planting of trees in playgrounds and schoolyards across the country. The special tree-planting initiative “sprouts” on April 1 and continues through May 31, 2010.

You can buy the Wow! Wow! Wubbzy!: Wubbzy Goes Green DVD on Amazon or you can win it here.

Green Your Home

(clip art compliments of greenclipart.com)

With Earth Day approaching, I will have several posts regarding being green, recycling and such.
Looking through the latest magazines, I came across several ideas to “green your home”
1. Avoid products that don’t list their ingredients and look for third party certifications such as Green Seal and Ecologo.
2. Use low-VOC paints, which release fewer toxic fumes. If getting new carpet, ask them to “off-gas” it before installing. This will “cook” the carpet to release harmful chemical, including formaldehyde. I wish I had known that 2 years ago when I got new carpet!
3. Take your shoes off at the door. This will help keep dirt, grime and pollutants from coming into your home. We started doing this when we got the new carpet. It works to a degree. One of us always forgets.
4. Use a vacuum cleaner with a high efficiency particulate are or HEPA filter – which traps the very small particles that other vacuums send back into the air. The best bet would be to get rid of the carpet, however that’s not always an option. My husband insists on carpet. I would love to put more tile in our house, though.
Stay tuned for more info on how to “green up” your life!
