Zola Goods Review and Giveaway

the winner is mandalarctic

“You may never know what results come from your action, but if you do nothing there will be no result.” – Mahatma Ghandi

While looking for green products to share with my readers, I came across Zola Goods. Zola – The art of living green. You can purchase products from their website, host a party, that sounds like fun, or become a Zola Coordinator.

Zola, of Italian origin, means “piece of earth.” By making small changes, each of us can heal our own piece of earth and together create an abundant future for our planet. We believe that when people know better, they do better.

When adding products to their product line the products have to pass the test using the 3Ps criteria- People, Planet, Profit. The products need to enhance people’s lives and be made under fair working conditions. The products need to have been made with fewer chemicals or less energy than other commercial alternatives. And last, the products need to provide an opportunity for an independent Zola Coordinator to earn money as well as be a profitable product for Zola. A company dedicated to sustainable living also has to ensure that it can sustain itself in order to continue its mission.

There are so many products to choose from too! There are light bulbs, composting products, recycled items, gift items and gift wrap. Zola also carries kits for planting flowers and herbs, clothing and so much more. If I didn’t have so many other things going on, I’d sign up to be a coordinator. I tried selling Mary Kay, but it didn’t work so good for me, but this I could really talk to people about. Maybe I will sign up. I love the products and love talking to people about going green. We’ll see.

Barbara from Zola Goods sent me this wonderful t-shirt. It’s very soft and feels so good. She would like to send one to a Mommy Has to Work reader. Zola “find the good” organic cotton t-shirt will quickly become your favorite t-shirt.

Seventh Generation Review and Giveaway

the winner is hawaiismn
Okay so you know I love to find green products. I’m not sure if everyone has heard of Seventh Generation or not but I’m here to introduce them to you if you haven’t. They’ve actually been around for 20 years! Their mission is to help protect our world with their naturally safe and effective household products.

Seventh Generation has so many more products than I knew of. I knew they had cleaning products, such as glass cleaners, shower cleaners and laundry soap. But I did not know that also carry, 100% recycled paper towels, napkins and recycled trash bags. They also carry
Chlorine free diapers and training pants. And get this, they have chlorine free pantyliners and organic tampons!

What I love most are the ingredients in their products – essential oils, lemongrass, coconut, orange and pomegranate to name a few. And, what’s not in them is the very best part, right?

I was able to review their Living Home Starter Kit, which contains:

Glass Cleaner – Grapefruit – which Hunter used this weekend on our french doors and worked beautifully. I didn’t have to worry about the fumes.
All-Purpose Cleaner – Green Mandarin – Works on everything.
Toilet Bowl CleanerEmerald – works just as well as the other brands
Shower CleanerGreen Mandarin
Tub & Tile Cleaner
Kitchen Cleaner –
I use everyday on kitchen counter tops and stovetop.
(2) Natural Paper Towels – 120 Count
Reusable Tote

All of their products are non-toxic & biodegradable. They do not create harsh fumes, any smells are very pleasant and fresh. The products are not tested on animals and are all safe for septic systems.

Check out their website too. There are coupons for several of their products, not just one. And there is a ton of information about their products and about being green. There are videos to watch, a section called Ask Science Man. So many cool things to learn.

Seventh Generation has kindly offered one Mommy Has to Work reader a Living Home Starter Kit for themselves.

To enter visit the Seventh Generation website and learn something.

A bonus entry – actually worth 2 entries – sign up the Seventh Generation Nation and send me the link for their profile. ( just leave 2 comments)

Green Moose Water Bottles Review and Giveaway – closed

the winner is crazywriter

WOW – Check out Green Moose Boutique! You can get anything eco-friendly from deodorant to grilling wood to water bottles. In 2008, Green Moose Boutique opened its doors. They are a family owned and operated company. With three young children themselves, they are always looking for safe, eco-friendly products to use in every day life. The company,
based in Ottawa Ontario Canada, is an online eco-lifestlye (I like that word) boutique offering more than 200 eco-friendly products.

Look at this body wash, it looks delicious! Organic Annapolis Valley apples, wild St. Lawrence Valley mint, eastern Canadian carrot and organic Prairie seed emollients. I would love to try this! There is so much more – check it out!

I was able to review a set of Water Week bottles. There are 5 10oz bottles, different colors – geared towards kids. They do have adult sets as well. The bottles are BPA-free and come with a special tray that fits in the fridge and the bottles just sitting the tray instead of all over the place. the bottles are dishwasher safe, which is great with kids, you never know what their going to put in them! And these particular bottles fit nicely in Hunter’s lunch box. Even Savannah likes them, no more sippy cups for her! ( well, yes I still use them sometimes)

I have coupon code for $5.00 store wide credit – the code is GREEN.

Would you like to win your own set of Water Week bottles? Green Moose Boutique sent me a set of the bottles pictured in the first row to give to one Mommy Has to Work reader. (The bottles look a little girly, but Hunter likes them all except the hearts. 😉

To enter visit Green Moose Boutique and tell me what else you like.

ReUsableBags.com Review and Giveaway – closed

the winner is alli

Another stop on my qust for eco-friendly products is Reusablebags.com. They offer tons of different styles to choose from. They carry light-weight bags that fold into a little pouch to carry in your purse. They also have heavy duty bags for those gallons of milk. There are bags for kids, bikers and even string bags. Bags, bags and bags.

But it doesn’t stop there Reusablebags.com has such a variety of products, not just bags. There is gift wrap, lunch containers, coffee mugs and water bottles. Their products are eco-friendly and 1% of sales is donated back to the environment.

The company started 2002 with the plastic bag issue and has made a significant impact along the way – inspiring hundreds of news stories and empowering individuals with practical products and activist tools. Endorsements in An Inconvenient Truth and others provide testament to the mainstream change they’re inspiring.

I was sent several bags to try out. I love being able to take my own bag to stores. I take one no matter where I go. I know it’s just a small step, but it’s a start!

Reuasblebags.com would like to give one Mommy Has to Work reader a $25 Gift Certificate to their website.

To enter visit Reusablebags.com and tell me what you’d buy if you win.

Compost Update

What a beautiful day today! We finally got to play outside and clean up the yard a bit. Here’s an update on our compost, a few of you were asking…

See the plants growing from the potatoes? If you’re wondering how to start your own compost, I wrote a post about. Check it out.We haven’t used any of the “dirt” but I like doing the compost because it’s one less thing in the trash. We throw any veggies or fruit in there as well as egg shells and coffee filters/grinds. It’s amazing how little “trash” we throw away now.
