DISNEY STORE CELEBRATES GRAND OPENING OF NEWLY-DESIGNED LOCATION IN JACKSONVILLE, FL

Woo-Hoo!! I’m so excited to get another Disney store within driving distance! And it’s at my favorite place to shop, the St. Johns Town Center in Jacksonville.

Disney Store will celebrate the grand opening of the newly-designed store at St. Johns Town Center in Jacksonville, Florida on Saturday, October 11, 2014. St. Johns Town Center is one of several newly-designed Disney Stores to open across North America in 2014, offering interactive and magical experiences for Disney fans of all ages. The first 500 Guests to attend the opening celebration will receive a free gift and an opportunity to meet Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse in Phase lll Plaza from noon to 4 p.m.

The Disney Store at St. Johns Town Center will create “Magical Moments for Guests of all Ages” through storytelling neighborhoods featuring a Disney Princess Castle, magical trees, and the Disney Store Theatre featuring the latest Disney entertainment, as well as a custom skyline with iconic Disney storytelling scenes and local landmarks.

The Grand Opening is Saturday, October 11, 2014. Starting at 10 a.m. the Disney Store Opening Ceremony will take place and one lucky child will be invited to “Unlock Imagination.” Plus the first 500 guests will receive a free gift. Then between noon and 4 p.m. there will be a meet and greet with Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse in Phase lll Plaza. Guests are encouraged to bring their cameras.

Paws for a Cause

So I’ve been neglecting my blog and my posts that are due.

But it’s for a good cause…

The non-profit I started, Helping Hands of Nocatee, Inc is hosting a Paws for a Cause event to benefit a local animal pet shelter, Wags & Whiskers in St. Augustine, FL. The event is this Saturday!!

That means I’m a little stressed right now. Although I have a few, and by few I mean like 2, other women helping me put this together. I have been working hard at getting donations for food and drinks to sell, getting vendors to come to the event and getting the community to be aware of the event! Phew. I’m exhausted and I still have 3 days to go.

Today I have to put the signs together, pick up the rest of the donated food, get more announcements out on Facebook and take some pictures and make some other signs. Don’t forget all the other “mom” things and my blog.

I do have some projects that are due and will get to them next week. I apologize.

If you live in the North Florida area and would like to come out, please do! I’d love to meet you!

The event will be Saturday April 26th from 2-5pm and the Nocatee Town Center in Ponte Vedra, FL.

I Faced My Fear – Bridges!!

I’ve mentioned before that I have a fear of high bridges. I’m okay with low ones or even long ones, it’s the high ones that get me. Bridges and high over passes. They freak me out and I’m afraid I will go off and over the edge. I know it’s an irrational fear but it’s there just the same. I’ve gotten better over the last two years and am okay with someone else driving, sometimes.

My daughter and I are taking a trip tomorrow over to the Tampa/St. Pete area and the Sunshine State Bridge is over there and I may have to cross it. Here is a picture of the Sunshine State Bridge.

I had to cross that bridge seven years ago and was terrified! I made my mother drive over but it was still frightening.

So Friday, the first day of Spring Break for us, I gathered up the kids and we went driving north to the Dames Point Bridge in Jacksonville.

Both bridges are the same height but the Sunshine State Bridge is 10,000 feet longer. So I drove and drove until I saw that bridge coming and I turned up the radio, made the air cooler and took a drink of water and I went over it!

But then I had to turn around and do it again! I pulled off the highway and sat for a few minutes and then made the drive back home. The second time was not as bad.

I definitely need more practice but I hope this will suffice for our trip tomorrow. Maybe I won’t even see the Sunshine State Bridge at all…. I can hope can’t I?
