Disney’s Teen Beach Movie

I received a DVD for review.

Since I guess May or was it April, my daughter has been wanting to watch the movie, Teen Beach Movie. Disney started promoting it very early and the anticipation was getting to her. Then Starting in July we were counting down the days to July 19th when it would be aired on TV. The TIVO’s were set and we were showered and ready to watch this new Disney movie!!

Think Grease, West Side Story and Beach Blanket Bingo or any of those old Frankie and Annette movies.

The first thing I noticed was the movie was dedicated to Annette Funicello who passed away this past April. The movie starts off in modern day with Brady (Ross Lynch) and McKenzie (Maia Mitchell) have the best summer ever. But McKenzie must leave early to go to school with her aunt. But beore she leaves McKenzie wants to ride the biggest wave of the summer and somehow She and Brady get transferred back in time to Brady’s favorite beach movie, Wet Side Story. Here the bikers and the surfers are about to get into a rif and Brady and McKenzie are trying to find a way out of the movie. Brady is loving being on the movie and all the singing and dancing. McKenzie not so much.

This was a very cute movie and I love all the music and dancing. It does get a bit cheesy at times – the slumber party and then McKenzie is dressed in black leather – think Grease. But the best thing is my daughter LOVES it! We’ve have it playing almost every day since.

The DVD will be available for purchase July 30th in stores. It includes behind the scenes rehearsal footage of the musical numbers.

Cadbury High Tea Party #CadburyHighTea

I received a party kit as part of a promotional program with Cadbury and MomSelect.

I had signed up to host a Mother and Daughter Cadbury Tea Party awhile back and was excited to learn I would be a host! The Cadbury Ice Cream was scheduled to come the day after we left for vacation so I am so thankful that my neighbor was able to get it in my freezer for me. We came home to a freezer full of ice cream and a box full of hats and tea cups!

We had the party this past Saturday and I invited several mommys and daughters and of course my own mom. I wanted to come up with a few games to play as well. I waited until the morning of to google some tea party games but that was no problem. I found some easy ones to incorporate into the party.

I served cookies, pastries, pretzels and chips with dip and of course the main treat Cadbury Ice Cream Bars. Oh and tea!

The first game we played was toss the button into the tea cups. The one I found online used pennies but I liked the idea of using buttons and we have quite a few pretty ones the girls liked.

Two girls could not make it but the four that did had a great time!

Another cute game was stack the sugar cubes. I didn’t even realize they sold these.

I took out my grandmother’s china for the moms and used my lace tablecloth. Here is my mom with a lovely hat!

The girls with the tea. I should have just served them water but I thought they might like to at least try the tea with lots of sugar!

And the main treat Cadbury Ice Cream bars! We had four to choose from. Royal Dark, Vanilla Chocolate, English Toffee and Caramello. All were hits! My daughter and my favorite was the Royal Dark. I loved the creamy dark chocolate over the rich vanilla ice cream. Yumm! My husband loved the English Toffee. (yes I let him try one)

The moms liked the fact that the bars were not too big. Perfect for a snack.

I started really excersing in August last year when my daughter started pre-school. She went three times a week, so that’s when I went to the gym or for a walk. I wasn’t really seeing the results I wanted so in May I joined Weight Watchers On Line, which I love. The only problem is you have to “weigh in” and I have no scale. I haven’t own a scale in like 20 years. I don’t like em honestly.

The wonderful people over at EatSmartProducts.com sent me a scale to review and use during my weight lose journey. Before I received their scale, my husband went out and bought me one. It was digital but only weighed in on the half pound. Meaning it was either 144 or 144.5 nothing in between.

There are so many other features as well.

Botti-Bots Cool New Toy!

What do you get when you cross a stuffed animal with a RC car? A Botti-Bot!!

This is perfect for little girls that want their big brothers race car but also want a fluffy stuffed animal. At least my little girl wants that.

We were sent a Botti-Bot to review. There are two coming out soon, Bitsy-Bot and Bopsy-Bot. We received Bitsy-Bot. My daughter was ecstatic when the box arrived! The Botti comes in a reusable carrying case, kind of like when you adopt an animal.

The Botti’s are easy to control. The remotes have six buttons and two joysticks that create all kinds of fun noises and movements. The Botti’s flip and spin and have my daughter laughing every time she gets it out. They are bright and colorful and so much fun! The wheels light up and when they get crazy they do the Rainbow Dance!

Two quirky creatures are included in the launch – Bitsy-Bot and Bopsy-Bot. Botti-Bot pets come from the land of rainbows. They travel in our world by zooming across the colorful streaks of light and they really come alive when their new owner brings them home.

My daughter had a lot of fun playing with her Botti-Bot. This would make a great gift for the holidays!! Botti-Bots will be available to purchase in August at most major retailer stores like Walamrt and Target. They will sell for $39.99 and are recommended for ages 4 and up.

Disney Digital Music

Both of my children have a love for music. Not surprising since so do my husband and I. My son is constantly asking to download music to his iPod and my daughter takes my phone and listens to music. I really need to get her a MP3 player…

Guess what? Disney now has digital music!! They have gift cards in $15, $25 and custom amounts now available! These would be a wonderful gift! I’ve seen them recently at Target in the check out line. I do have a birthday party coming up, I wonder if the little girl would like this?
