I did notice after putting them out yesterday. The lettering in the middle does not seem big enough for passing cars. If I could change that I would. I have gotten compliments already from the neighbors, so I guess that’s good.

Tidy Cats Power Blend

I have always used the same brand kitty litter for like for-ev-er! I’ve tried a few and even blogged about them, but nothing compared to my “brand”. Until now.

We have two wonderful cats, Zena and Spice. And kitty littler is important. It’s important to keep the smells at bay and keep the kitties happy and make it easy for me to clean up!

I was leery to try a new litter, but so happy I did, because now I have a new favorite. Tidy Cats Power Blend is wonderful! With my old brand, the urine would clump up like wet sand and kinda stick to the litter box, but with Tidy Cats Power Blend it scoops up nice and clean.

The jugs are great too, they feature two handles so it’s easier to grip when you’re filling the litter box. And of course the jugs are recyclable!!

Fiesta Chicken Soup from Southern Living

Another recipe from Southern Living’s Rotisserie Chicken Cookbook. Fiesta Chicken Soup. This was by far my favorite!! It had just enough spice and it tasted so good. I had it for lunch for three days in a row and am wishing I made a bigger batch. I really want to make some more and you know what? I think I will do just that!!

The sour cream and cheese toppings made this taste even better. I would truly recommend them, if you like them. This will keep you warm on those chilly days.

Fiesta Chicken Soup

Recipe Type: Dinner

Author: Rotisserie Chicken Cookbook by Southern Living

Prep time: 10 mins

Cook time: 30 mins

Total time: 40 mins

Serves: 8

This is the best soup I’ve had in a long time!

Ingredients

1 medium onion, diced
1 tsp. vegetable oil
1 garlic clove, minced
3 cups chopped rotisserie chicken
1 (15 oz.) can chili-hot beans, undrained
3 1/2 cups chicken broth
1 (15 1/4 oz.) can whole kernel corn with red and green peppers, drained
1 (10 oz.) can diced tomatoes and green chiles, undrained
1/2 tsp. chili powder
1/2 tsp. ground cumin
1/8 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. pepper
Toppings:
sour cream, shredded Mexican four-cheese blend

Instructions

Saute onion in hot oil in a large Dutch oven over medium heat 7 minutes or until tender. Add garlic and sauté 1 minute. Stir in chicken and next 8 ingredients.
Bring to boil, stirring occasionally; reduce heat and simmer 15 minutes. Serve with desired toppings.

Shari’s Berries

I mentioned last week some Practical Ideas for Valentine’s Day. Included was some yummy chocolate covered strawberries and cute love bug cake pops. Guess what? I got to try them!!

I got a chance to go shopping at Shari’s Berries !! They have so many items to choose from it was actually hard to choose just one! I really wanted to try the mini cheesecakes. And the cookies looked awesome. But I really wanted to try what Shari’s Berries are famous for – the strawberries!

There different varieties as well. There’s Gourmet Dipped Swizzle, which are delicious chocolate with more chocolate dripped on. Then you have the Gourmet Dipped Fancy, which has peanuts or chocolate chips on top of the delicious chocolate. Gourmet Dipped Premium has salted almonds and cookies and cream and cacao nibs. Hand Dipped Cocktails Strawberries with hints of butter rum, amaretto and champagne sound heavenly!! There is the Valentine’s Day variety that I received.

See what I mean!! So many to choose from!! I want one of each!!

I finally chose the 3 Love Bug Cake Pops & 6 Valentine’s Strawberries which costs $44.98 plus shipping. But you can find coupons to use here.

Above is a picture of how the goodies came. Dry ice was included to keep them cool. But it is recommend not to put the strawberries in the fridge as they are better at room temperature and best if eaten within 48 hours. No problem there!!

So what did I think? YUMM!!

The strawberries were wonderful, sweet and huge. The chocolate was heavenly. Since I’m counting calories, I’m happy to report each berry is only 90-100 calories each!

The kids each tried a Love Bug Cake Pop and wanted seconds!!
