Hunter has needed to wear an uniform since pre-k and now Savannah will be starting to wear one in her 3 year old class. I love that they wear them. It makes it so much easier to buy school clothes and the kids look so much more “put together”. I’m hoping that when Hunter starts middle school, the school will change their policy and enforce some type of uniform there as well.

101 Offline Activities – Book Review

These days it seems everyone has an iPhone, droid or iPod, something to connect us to the Internet. I personally love it and will admit it – I’m addicted! I love how much info there is to find. And of course I bought each of my kids and iPod touch and they are only 3 and 10!

But, seriously, we all need to monitor what we do and how much time we spend connected with and electronic devices and focus on each other. I love reading and playing with my children. I love to act silly and play games. 101 Offline Activities You Can Do With Your Child is a great little book that gives you a ton of fun games to play with your children. The book is filled with activities you can do at home, on the go, at restaurants and more!

One that we’ve played since, forever, is I Spy. The book calls it Bistro Spy. While waiting for your table at a restuarant or waiting for your food, you can spy objects all around the restaurant. Other favorites, that we always do – Traveling Board Games – I used to make my own, and Travel Tally, where you count certain objects while traveling on the road.

Many of the games get creative by upcycling and recycling products around the house, I love that.

If you’re looking for more ideas and some good clean fun to be had with your kids or grand kids, check it out!

Living in South Florida I’m always fighting mosquitoes. Every summer it becomes a battle. The mosquito, my family and me. Mosquitoes love me too. But…. I’m not a fan of bug spray.

I was able to review a natural insect repelling balm. It’s called No More Bugz! Insect Repelling Balm. The balm is so cool because you can just apply it to your skin instead of spraying it all over the place. It’s all natural with no Deet, so it’s safe for babies and children.The ingredient lists includes a 100% natural blend of oils and beeswax and an organic essential oil blend of citronella, peppermint, lemongrass, cedarwood, geranium, lemon eucalyptus and lavender. The balm works on mosquitoes, black flies & other pests.

When we were up in Indiana we had to use it for these little flies that bite. They were terrible! But after using the No More Bugz! Insect Repelling Balm, it was much better. I’m not a fan of the smell though, but I have a thing about smells, so it could just be me.

I was a little skeptical about ordering discount glasses online, but my husband needed a new pair of glasses and we already used our free pair through our insurance. My hubby usually sleeps in his while watching TV and they get all bent up, so I didn’t want to spend a fortune on them anyway.
