Road Rippers R/C Review – Holiday Gift Guide

What does every boy want for Christmas?

A remote control car of course!

I’m in the process of raising my fourth boy and this is what they have all asked for every year.

Check out the new Road Rippers R/C collection from Toy State.

These are designed to look and feel like real, high-performance cars. The Road Rippers cars have multiple controls. The kids will have fun all day long.

I received the 1970 Pontiac GTO Judge to review. It’s cool – any boy or girl for that matter will love this! There are flashing lights and even car tunes from the 70’s. Look at the detail. Other cars in this line include 1967 Corvette Stingray, 1969 Dodge Daytona and 1971 Dodge Super Bee. I wonder which one my husband would choose, because you know he wants one now.

So what did I think? I think it’s pretty cool. I know that sounds lame, but most R/C cars do not have lights or sounds. I love the music, Louie, Louie is one of my favorites! I mean the kids can play and we can listen to the cool tunes! Sounds good to me!

There is also the Road Rippers “Mobile Command” cars, which offers radio control versions of popular licensed sports cars, complete with lights and sound features for each walkie talkie-themed controller. This line feature the Dodge Vipor and Dodge Challenger.

These are available at Walmart, Target, Toys R Us and Kmart.

They are for ages 7 and up and retail for $35.00.

Check out http://www.toystate.com/ for more information and games.

They’re on Twitter and Facebook too!

This is a Team Mom review. I received the above product for review purposes. This did not affect my opinion, these really are cool cars.

Greg Hastings Paintball 2 for WII Review – Holiday Gift Guide

My son was soooo excited to be able to review this “awesome” game!

I don’t normally let my son play anything violent so he does not get to play any “gun” type games, even though “all his friends do”. I’m keeping him young, as long as I can, but he’s 10 and it’s getting harder. So when I was asked to review Greg Hastings Paintball 2 game for WII , I jumped at the chance. This way he can play the “gun” type games without the violence. His older brother used to play real paintball, so that made this extra special for Hunter.

The game has 10 single and multi player games modes. There are two teams the blue and the orange. Apparently the blue team is the best. You get to choose your player, but not the gun. As the levels increase your opponents gets faster and come at you from all different directions.

There are 62 paintball scenes taken from actual fields all over the world.

I asked my son to give me a few words to describe the game. What came to mind is awesome, exciting, fun, challenging (that one from my husband). This game is better than his other WII games.

When I received the game I was a little worried that I would have to buy the WII gun, you do not need it, but Hunter had a gift card and bought one. It does make it more realistic with the gun, but not nessary.
This game is rated E 10+. Retails for $39.99 and is also available for 360 and PS3.

I received the above game from Majesco Entertainment for review purposes. This did not affect my or my son’s opinions. Our opinions are our own.

Sesame Street Video USB Review – Holiday Gift Guide

Check out these new Sesame Street Video USB drives. Aren’t they cute! These are great for travel or at-home. These USB drives feature a full-length movie with all the Sesame Street characters and of course they are educational. You also get direct access to the Sesame Street website. You can also use the USB to store songs or pictures of whatever you want.

oh and they are waterproof, dustproof and drop proof – and you’ll never lose the “cap” to the drive because it is attached to the top. I let Savannah wear it like a bracelet, but it can easily go in your diaper bag or purse. The new line has launched with seven characters, each with their own movie.

I was sent the Abby Movie – Abby in Wonderland. Savannah seemed more interest in the actual USB port, until the movie came on and ran for a few minutes. She sat with me and watched it for about 30 minutes. I’m looking forward to watching the rest. It’s really cute. It was simple to use too. Not complicated at all!

These would be great stocking stuffers!!

Check it out at http://sesamestreet.atpinc.com/ for more information, There is also a holiday giveaway where you can win all 7 USB Drives. These are available online at http://www.store.sesamestreet.org/ and select Toys R Us locations for $24.99.

Cool Green Products Review and a Giveaway

I did some research over the summer and found some really interesting “green” products. I found some really odd ones too, but I’ll save those for another day.
I did get to review all of theses products and there will be a giveaway of one of them too!

The HydroRight Dual Flusher

Have you seen the new toilets that have two flushers? I stayed at a hotel that had one. It was cool. There’s a flusher for one type of deposit and a flusher for the other type of deposit. My neighbors recently replaced their toilets with these and I thought, “I want one too”. But I can’t just replace my toilets.

For about the past year we’ve been going by the slogan “if it’s yellow, let it mellow….” you know what I mean. You do, don’t you. Anyway it works for us. We don’t do it if we have company, but when it’s just the four of us. I also thought about putting a brick in the tank or a large bottle to help save water. Well I have the best thing to share…

The HydroRight Dual Flush can do the same thing. You place the HydroRight into your tank. Takes under 10 minutes to install no tools are needed. It took awhile to get my husband to just do it, but he said it was very easy.
Did you know that without dual flushes, 80% of the flushes, waste water. You can buy them on their website or at home improvement stores. They even have a water calculator to see if you’re wasting water.

Recycled pens and pencils form Paper Mate.

I really like this one. We go through many pens where I work and when the ink runs out, there goes the pen and all that plastic. These new pens and pencils are made from recycle materials and when there done, you can recycle them again. They are biodegradable too!

Paper Mate Pencils: These are made from corn, instead of petroleum-based plastics, so when the product comes in contact with soil, it will naturally decompose and biodegrade. And of course the packaging is also made out of 100 percent recyclable materials and is plastic-free.

The Paper Mate Recycled Pens are made from anywhere from 67 percent to 80 percent recycled materials. They come in different colors too. I tried them out and they’re no different than any other pens, except I like them better because they’re recycled and are recyclable!

And to top it off, Paper Mate has partnered with TerraCycle. My favorite company!!So all of their old pens can be “upcycled” into new products. You can learn more about the program here: http://www.terracycle.net/brigades/40-Writing-Instruments-Brigade.

Hydros Water Bottles

Want a water bottle that you can fill up anywhere with tap water? Try the Hydros Water Bottle, I did and love it! What is it? It’s is a filtered reusable water bottle with a built-in filter.

It makes me sad every time I see people buying cases of bottled water. I’m sorry, it does. It’s really easy to use refillable bottles, once you just do it! And the Hydros Water Bottle is perfect for those who only like filtered water. You;ll always have a filter, it’s in the bottle.

These are made in the USA and they are PBA FREE. The other day while out and about, Target had some great water bottles for .99. I was going to get a few for Christmas, but there was no PBA free notification on the bottle. The more I thought about, the more I did not want to buy them, so I put them back. I’d rather but BPA free!

You can order them online at https://hydrosbottle.com/.

I love mine! I use it everyday. My only complaint is when my husband tightens it, I can never get the lid off to drink the water. I always have to ask the security guard at work. But other than that, it’s awesome!

Smead – Get Organized – Review

Do you organize your papers? I didn’t use to. I was very disorganized and sometimes still am. A couple of years ago we bought a really nice filing cabinet to match our bookshelves. A nice wood one.
So, of course I went to the local office supply store to buy some folders and hanging files. I just bought the store band, it was the cheapest and why not. Well, a couple years later and those hanging files are falling down and ripping. What a mess!
I was able to review some really nice files and folders from Smead and what a difference!

A little bit about them:
The Tuff Hanging Folder comes with an Easy Slide Tab. These are seven times stronger than the competitor. The rods are special designed to be 40% stronger and resist bending and paper tearing. That was my problem. The tabs slide easy and secure into whichever position you choose. They come in 11 different colors. I like to make mine colorful. And as an added bonus they are made from 10% recycled content and 10% post-consumer material.

The SuperTab Oversized-Tab Folders are pretty cool too. The tabs are big. These are for people like me who can’t write small. Never have, ask the girls at work. These are great for large text or multiple lines of description. These come in cool colors as well. And their both made in the USA.

Check out their Facebook page for ideas.

There are tips for getting organized and contests to win products!
I received products to facilitate this review and will receive a $20 gift card to Target for my efforts. This did not affect my opinions, My opinions are my own.
