SmartShield Self Tanner and Sunscreen Review

Get Ready for Summer with SmartShield’s Eco-Friendly Self Tanner .

I can’t believe summer is almost here! I’m trying to lose a few pounds to get ready, but you know one thing I need to do is get a tan. But how do I do that and protect myself at the same time? With SmartShield Self Tanner! Any mom would would love this for Mother’s Day.

SmartShield send me a bottle to review. SmartShield’s Self Tanner has a SPF 15 and protects and moisturizes your skin while building a natural, healthy glow using the melanin in your skin instead of dyes. The lotion is oil-free, non of that greasy stuff. It dries quickly with out any residue. I love that it conains Vitamins A,C and E and also has Aloe Vera.

It started with a freckle…
In 1992, our family found out Harl’s freckle wasn’t a freckle. It was a precancerous spot. We were like most people. We knew we should wear sunscreen, but we didn’t always do it. Sunscreen was always too messy, too greasy and too smelly. So, we set out to develop a sunscreen that people would want to use. A tough sunscreen that absorbed quickly into the skin, provided all-day protection, and didn’t interfere with our everyday activities.

SmartShield Self Tanner is available online at http://www.smartshield.com/ and many other online beauty outlets. The product retails for $11.99.

While checking out their website I found that you can send in photos of SmartShield in action and one winner a month will win a $100 shopping spree. How cool is that – you should see some of the pictures!

I was not paid to do this review, however I did recieve a bottle of the above mentioned product. This did not affect my opinion. Thie was brought to me by Business2Blogger. Thanks!

Raw Energy Review

I received the book Raw Energy by Stephanie Tourles from Storey Publishing and Mama Buzz. My family is not the most healthy, but I would like to change that. This book will help. There are wonderful recipes for energy bars, smoothies and snack foods, made from all raw ingredients.

Trying to get my son or even my husband to try most of the foods individual would be next to impossible, but putting them into snack foods or smoothies, now that’s doable. I do have to admit I haven’t tried any of the recipes, but I will soon. Change is hard, but I have help with this book.

Stephanie Tourles explains why we should eat raw foods and does into depth about the foods mentioned in the book.

The book sections include:

* Raw Snack Basics
* Raw Snack Pantry and Kitchen Essentials
* Raw Snack Prep 101: Learning How to Uncook
* Super-Satisfying Raw Nut Milks, Shakes, Smoothies, and Frozen Fruit Creams
* Fit and Fabulous Fruit and Vegetable Juices
* The Snacks that Keep You Going: Energizer Bars, Balls,a nd Bites
* Powerhouse Nut, Seed, and Fruit Blends
* Raw Cereals and Delectable Fruit Parfaits
* Vegetable Jolt: Crispy Chips, Zippy Dips, and Scrumptious Spreads
* Chillin’: Fresh Cold Fruit and Vegetable Soups
* Raw Confections: No guilt, Nutrient Packed Candy and Cookies

My boss can’t wait to try out this book. She’s been eating raw foods for a while now and loves it.

You can purchase Raw Energy from Storey Publishing for $16.95. It’s definitely a great manual to have on hand, especially if you are new to real, healthy eating as we are.

I did receive this book for review purposes from Mama Buzz and Storey Publishing, but the opinions stated are my own.

Tommee Tippee Review

I was given the opportunity to try the some new sippy cups for my little one from Tommee Tippee. A United Kingdom based company, that in January brought their line to Babies R Us. Tommee Tippee makes baby bottles, pacifiers, sippy cups and more. They even have child water bottles. I love the fact that they offer different stages. Savannah likes to use “big girl” cups. Their products are BPA and Phthalate fee and have a patented advanced-flo valve for guaranteed easy drinking. Which means the child doesn’t need to suck so hard in order to drink. Have you ever tried to drink from one of your child’s cups? Try it. See the difference.

I received the Trainer Cup and the Sippy Cup for Savannah to try out. I did pass the Trainer cups on to a friend who has a younger child. We did try the sippy cups though and loved them. The cups have a soft outside, which makes it easy to handle. The spout comes with it’s own cover, which we love. This helps them to not leak. We had no problems at all with the cups. The colors are bright and cheerful. At first my husband didn’t think we needed any more cups, but he’s commented several times on how much he likes these. ( We will be getting rid of some of our other cups.) The valves are easy to take part and through in the dishwasher. And best of all they, don’t leak! I can’t wait to go buy the water bottle. Babies R Us here we come.

Check out more information on Tommee Tippee here. There is great info on all their products.

I received these cups from Tommee Tippee because I review for Mom Bloggers Club. The opinions are my own.

The Napkin, the Melon and the Monkey – Book Review

I was sent this great book to review and I highly recommend it to anyone. It’s a customer service fable and tells how to be happy and successful at work and in life, simply by changing your mind. I’ve worked in doctor’s offices for 17 years and for 15 years worked as a receptionist, now I’m in the billing department. This book definitely applies to me. As I was reading it, I thought wow this is about me!
I love that this book is written as a story and not a self help book. But that’s what it is, really. I’m not too fond of self help books, their too impersonal. This was great. Because it’s story, it’s easy to read and understand.
The author Barbara Burke gives “Aha!s” that really make you think. My favorites are –
” It’s not what happens to you in life, it’s what you do with what happens that counts.”
” A simple apology works wonders.”
“Problems can be gifts in disguise.”
and “I will always have problems.” Ain’t that the truth!
Barbara Burke is an internationally known consultant, speaker and author who specializes in the “people-side” of customer service management.
If you work in customer service or know someone who does or you just need some balance in your life, I would seek this book out.
I was sent a copy of the above book for review purposes, all opinions are my own.
