Mother Daze Review

Have you ever gone over to someone else’s house and seen how their children act and think well I guess my kids aren’t so bad? Or seen all the clutter and thought, well my house isn’t so dirty? Come on admit it. I have one friend that I love going to her house because then I don’t feel so bad about my house and kids.
Mother Daze – Tales from the Imperfect Playground is a wonderful and funny book about motherhood. Everything about motherhood. Christine Carr tells stories about motherhood that make you say, good, I’m not the only one who did that. I loved reading her book! It’s a laugh out loud, make you cry kinda book. You know when you and your girlfriends sit down and talk? This book is just like that. A must read for all moms.
Christine Carr is an Elementary School Physical Education teacher and she suggests if you really want to know how your children are doing in school, ask the PE teacher. They can tell you how your child plays with other children, how they interact on a social level. I’m definitely going to do this the next time I’m at school.
This book retails for $14.95 and you can purchase it here.

Shoo, Jiimmy Choo! Book Review

Looking to save money for a rainy day or save for retirement or just want to spend less? Check out Shoo, Jimmy Choo – The Modern Girl’s Guide to Spending Less and Saving More.

Shoo, Jimmy Choo is a book for anyone looking to cut back on their spending. Caty Hill gives advice and even gives you worksheets so you can do it yourself. You will be guided though style, diet and fitness …for your finances.

Some chapters included:

The Money Makeover: little or not-so-little financial “touch ups”
The Plastic Purge : curing the “plastic plague”
Climb the Career Ladder: landing your dream job and a pretty paycheck
Push for a Pad: buying a home or being a savvy renter

Written by Catey Hill, money editor of nydailynews.com.Before that she was the marketing manager at Plum TV and the author of The Plum Wealth Report. Catey herself is a recovering shoe addict.

I’ve read similar books and they’re so not interesting. Catey Hill writes a great book with funny stories and scenarios just for women. I pretty much practice much of what is covered in this book, but it was a gentle reminder to stay focused.

Shoo, Jimmy Choo retails for $14.95 and you can buy it at Amazon.com

Love Your Heart by Tim McGraw Review

Love Your Heart by Tim McGraw and Tom Douglas

Publisher: Thomas Nelson
Ages: 4 – 10
Price: Hardcover $16.99

To see a flip version of the book, visit here.

The second book in Tim McGraw’s My Little Girl series is a heartwarming story of a little girl’s selfless act of kindness.
Tim McGraw and songwriter Tom Douglas once again join forces to write another book about the precocious Katie and her dad. Katie has many talents, but she wonders which one will win her school’s talent show. With the help of Dad and her faithful dog Palio, and after several amusing mishaps, Katie finally chooses one talent that includes Palio. But at the talent show, she decides to drop out of the contest to help her friend, showing kindness is the best talent of all. Katie’s proud dad reassures her that she did the best thing and that while he loves many things about her, he loves her heart most of all.

Tim McGraw is: dad of three daughters, husband to Faith Hill, Country music superstar, Grammy Winner, American Music Award Winner, People’s Choice Winner, highest grossing tour in history (with wife, Faith Hill), and has sold more than 35 million albums. Yet, beneath all the accolades beats the heart of a dad who immensely loves his family.

Tom Douglas is a singer-songwriter who graduated from Oglethorpe University and received an MBA from Georgia State University. He is the writer of hits “Little Rock” by Collin Raye, “The Gift” by Jim Brickman, “Love’s the Only House” by Martina McBride, and “Grown Men Don’t Cry” by Tim McGraw. He and his wife have three children.

Disclosure: Mama Buzz and reviewers received a complimentary copy of this book for review purposes.

I was able to review this great book courtesy of Mama Buzz. I read it to my 2 year old and 9 year old and they really liked it. The book has beautiful pictures and has a really heart felt message. Love Your Heart is about a little girl trying to figure out her special talents. She has a talent show and can’t figure out her talent. She ends up helping someone else instead of performing herself. This book has a great message for kids and grownups alike.

I had the opportunity to review a great CD for kids. The CD is named “Words That Rhyme with Orange” by Ross King. It’s geared towards children ages 2-6, but my nine year old loves the CD too! Actually my husband , my 2 year old and myself also loved this CD!

Below is a list of the songs. Our #1 favorite is #11 Don’t Do It. It’s about finding a booger and to not eat or feed it to your sister. All the songs have a good message for the kids as well as being funny. It’s a great CD! The music is upbeat and not your typical children’s song. Which is great for me, Savannah and I drive 25 minutes to school and work in the mornings and again in the afternoon and to listen to the same music gets kinda old. Anyway check it out and listen to some samples. Check out his MySpace page for samples.

CSN Swingsets and More Review

I told you a few months ago I was going to be doing a review for CSN swing sets and more. Well, the slide I wanted happened to be out of stock. When it came in it was real close to Christmas. So, I waited to “review” it until Savannah received it as a present. She loves it!!

The slide is Little Tykes Jr, retails for $41.99. You can also find many other outdoor toys, swing sets, tables and more at SwingsetsandMore.com.

The slide is small enough for my little one to climb it all by herself and I don’t have to worry too much about her falling off.

I was not paid to do this review, however I did receive the above mentioned slide.
Thank you Swingsets and More!
