I love cats. I have three. Yes three. The are so much fun, most of the time. Christmas time poses a bit of a problem though. Cats love dangling, shiny objects. What better toy than a tree full of shiny, dangling objects! Haha.
My cats are pretty good though. They like to play with the bottom ornaments but I do not hang anything that will break on the bottom. Below is some great picture of cats that like to get up into the tree.

Traditions. We have a lot of them for Christmas. My mom did a great job with passing down her family’s traditions and I am passing them along to my children.
Christmas Shows- One of my favorite things to do during the holidays is watch all the classic Christmas Specials. I’ve been watching them for over 40 years and hope to pass down the tradition to my children.
Funny Presents – On Christmas night after we have eaten our dinner, we all get one more gift, a funny present. These are sometimes hard to shop for and sometime are not too funny. Each gift is a low in price and comes with a note to give more leverage to the “funny” gift.
Christmas Lights – Every year we take some homemade cookies and drive around the neighborhoods looking at lights.
Christmas Eve – Every year the kids get to pick one present that is already under the tree and open it.
Night of Lights Trolley Ride – This is a fairly new tradition for us. Christmas Eve we take the trolley ride in St. Augustine, FL to see all the lights set up over the city.

This is the time of year that I usually over indulge. It’s hard not too as there are so many tasty treats and foods to try. Premier Protein sent me some of their protein bars to help curb my sweet tooth.

Cranberry Protein Shake
1 Premier Protein Vanilla Shake
2 Dollops of Cranberry Sauce
7-8 Ice Cubes
Blend until smooth and enjoy!
Apple Pie Smoothie
1 Premier Protein Vanilla Shake
1 apple (cored and sliced)
1 tsp apple pie spice
1-2 tsp honey
5-8 ice cubes
Blend until smooth and enjoy!
High Protein Eggnog
2 Premier Protein Vanilla Shakes
½ Egg Substitute
2 Tbsp Stevia
2 Tsp Rum Extract
½ Tsp Nutmeg (ground)
2 Pinches cinnamon (ground)
In a medium saucepan heat the Premier Protein® Shake, egg substitute and sweetener on medium to high. Stir continuously until the mixture thickens slightly, usually a few minutes (Note, do not bring to a boil.) Stir in the vanilla, rum, ½ tsp nutmeg & pinch of cinnamon.
Remove from heat and pour into a heat resistant container, cover and refrigerate until the eggnog has cooled (at least 3 hours.)
