The Madagascar movies were so much fun and now King Julien has his own show only on Netflix!

The series stared on December 19 and is full of King Julien Fun! There are 5 episodes available to watch, look for All Hail King Julien when searching on Netflix.

A favorite character from the Madagascar franchise, King Julien will take on the jungle’s craziest adventures in the new comedy series, along with his loyal sidekicks Maurice and Mort plus a whole new cast of colorful animals.

Also available to watch are other Holiday Madagascar shows! These always bring laughs and cheers with my kids.

Into the Woods – In Theaters Now!

IntoTheWoods541861c99b824

I was able to see Into the Woods a few weeks ago with my cousin, Merrilee.

I had to think on my review after the movie. The movie had a wonderful cast and the scenes were amazing. I love a good musical and this is a musical. I don’t think I realized that before going to see it. The movie prodcued a few laughs and some of the scenes seemed cheesey. But now that I think about musicals can be like that sometimes. Grease for example is my all time favorite movie and some of those scenes a re a bit cheesey if you really think about it. The sudden break out of song through me.

However, I really enjoyed the movie and can’t wait to see it again with my daughter.

“Into the Woods” is a modern twist on several of the beloved Brothers Grimm fairy tales, intertwining the plots of a few choice stories and exploring the consequences of the characters’ wishes and quests. This humorous and heartfelt musical follows the classic tales of Cinderella (Anna Kendrick), Little Red Riding Hood (Lilla Crawford), Jack and the Beanstalk (Daniel Huttlestone), and Rapunzel (MacKenzie Mauzy), all tied together by an original story involving a Baker and his Wife (James Corden and Emily Blunt), their wish to begin a family and their interaction with the Witch (Meryl Streep), who has put a curse on them.

Rob Marshall, the acclaimed filmmaker behind the Academy Award®-winning musical “Chicago” and Disney’s “Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides,” directs the film, which is based on the Tony®-winning original musical by James Lapine, who also penned the screenplay, and legendary composer Stephen Sondheim, who provides the music and lyrics. Produced by John DeLuca, Marshall, “Wicked” producer Marc Platt and Callum McDougall, “Into the Woods” will be released in theaters December 25, 2014.

Into the Woods” premiered on Broadway on November 5, 1987, at the Martin Beck Theatre. The production, which ran for 764 performances, won Tony® Awards for Best Score, Best Book of a Musical and Best Actress in a Musical. Among other awards, the musical received five Drama Desk Awards, including Best Musical. “Into the Woods” has been produced around the world, including a 1988 U.S. tour, a 1990 West End production and Broadway and London revivals, in addition to a television production, DVD recording and a 10-year-anniversary concert.

We Are Getting a Puppy!

I’ve been thinking about getting a puppy for a while now. I’ve been researching and looking online at local shelters. Recently I saw our local shelter had a litter of 9 puppies that were available for pre-adoption. My husband and I decided to go down and check them out. There were several other families looking for puppies as well. I guess puppies get adopted quickly.

We ended up choosing a sweet puppy and will be going to get her today!

The kids are very excited and so am I , although I’m a little nervous as I’ve never owned a puppy as an adult. I’ve had cats and we still have 3 cats. I’m hoping everyone will get along just fine.

We are still working on a name for our new sweet baby.

Any puppy advice?

Recycling for Christmas

About a month or two before Christmas I start saving all sorts of boxes. Boxes that come in the mail, cereal boxes, cracker boxes and anything else I think I can use. I never buy boxes unless they’re 75% off but I haven’t done that in years.

I wrapped the rest of my gifts today and as you can see I really do use them! 🙂
