My #DisneySide Party!

@HomeCelebrationKit

I was selected to host a #DisneySide Party and we had our party on Saturday. What a great time we had. Disney and Mom Select sent me a wonderful @Home Celebration Kit with lots of fabulous gifts, prizes and party decorations.

I was sent HP cards to make my own cards and plenty to pass out to my guests. Stickers, tattoos, bracelets and more to pass out to the little ones. I added a few more extras in their goody bags.

Our first game was Disney Bingo, included in my kit. The children and adults had fun playing along.

I also printed several Disney Coloring sheets and had copies made. The children loved coloring Olaf and Elsa. In the background played Minnie-Rella on DVD.

Haines sent ten t-shirts for the children to make their own #DisneySide shirt. Washable markers were included as well. I printed out some templates for the children to use to trace Mickey or Minnie.

I love this shirt done by four year old Jack. He did great!

Love it! #DisneySide
These children were so talented!

Then off to the photo wall. I picked up a photo prop kit at Walmart. Only $5 and was a huge hit!

I did not take pictures of my Mickey Cupcakes or my Mickey Mouse Cookies, bummer… But they did taste pretty good and there are none left. The adults played a game of Disney Trivia, also included in my kit. My friends knew their Disney!

Over all, we had a great time! I mean who doesn’t love Disney? I am so thankful for Disney and Mom Select to allow us to show off our #DisneySide.

The Three Bears…

I like to tell bed time stories. Several years ago while telling my daughter about the Three Little Pigs, she wanted another story. So I decided to make my own version of Godilocks and the Three Bears. She was into Dora at the time, so my story was about Dora and the Three Monkeys (Boots).

The_Three_Bears

The story is very similar to the original, but it’s Dora who was walking through the woods and got hungry. She went into Boots’ home and found chicken noodle soup instead of porridge. (My daughter loves chicken noodle soup.) Dora tries the soup, sits on the chairs and falls asleep on Boots’ bed. Then Boots and his mom and dad come home. After discovering Dora sleeping upstairs, Dora and Boots become fast friends and go on many adventures together!

I loved my version and never thought anything about it. I still tell her that version today. However…

She is in Kindergarten now and is learning about fairy tales. Yes, you see where this is going, right? The first story they learned about was the Three Little Pigs. (My version ended up with the wolf and pigs eating McDonalds together.) Next came The Three Bears…..

My daughter wanted my to tell her the story before she learned it in school. It was part of her “homework”. I took a deep breath and told her the real version.  Guess what? She didn’t believe me!!

She said, “No, that’s not the way it goes!” I laughed and said, “Yes it is.” She said, No, that’s the sorry with Dora and Boots”. So I had to fess up and tell her that I took The Three Bears and changed around the characters.

It took her a few days to believe me. I got a few chuckles out of the whole incident.

Have you changed around characters in a bed time story?

Pies for Kids – Pi Day March 14th

This is a sponsored opportunity with Foodie.com.

Pi Day is coming up next month, March 14th to be exact. My husband and I like all kinds of pies, but the kids, not so much. So I searched Foodie.com and came up with a collection of fun pies that I think my kids will really enjoy.

There is the Chocolate Cream Brownie Pie that sounds oh so delicious. The original Whoopie Pie. Or how about a rainbow collection of Whoopie Pies! The Triple Peanut Butter Cookie Pie would have to be my favorite as I love peanut butter. Or maybe the Nestle Tollhouse Cookie Pie. Hmmm, they both sound good.

See my entire collection above.

What Pie will you be making on Pi Day?
