Tips for Helping Your Kids Take Care of Their Teeth

Although you know the importance of teaching your kids how to take care of their teeth, you may find yourself (and them) slacking sometimes. Proper dental habits go a long way in helping your kids maintain self-confidence, physical health, and saving money for both of you in the future. Here are some great tips to better ensure your kids have brighter, healthier smiles for decades to come.

Explain the Toothbrush

Rather than handing your kids a toothbrush and tell them to get brushing, take this one step further. Specifically explain that they’re brushing away invisible plaque on their teeth that can work its way into their gums and teeth which can cause decay When your kids have a better idea of why it’s so important that they brush twice a day and what can happen if they don’t, they’re less likely to skip brushing and brush their teeth the right way rather than half-heartedly.

Be a Leader

Kids pay more attention and retain more information than we think. For this reason, it’s important to set a good example when it comes to taking proper care of your teeth. Things such as using reliable toothpaste like Colgate Total SF, flossing, and scrubbing your tongue are all great ways to show your kids the proper way to take care of their oral health. Creating a regular dental routine that your kids can follow will go a long way.

Allow Kids to Choose Their Own Toothbrush

Something else that can motivate kids to brush their teeth on the regular is picking out their own toothbrush. There so many choices of brushes for kids today and letting them select their own brush with their favorite movie character or color can give them a sense of excitement and control, making them want to brush their teeth instead of you asking them to.

Visit the Dentist Regularly

This tip should go without saying, but it certainly deserves a spot on the list. Schedule a trip to the dentist for your kids at least twice a year, more if your dentist recommends it. Your kids may be either hesitant or downright frightened about going to the dentist. If so, bring up these fears with your child’s dentist to see what you can do together to help ease your child’s fears or hesitations. It’s best to look for a dentist who specializes in child dentistry because she or he already has experience with children and can teach them how to take proper care of their developing teeth.

Watch What They Drink

Most kids love juice, but that love can lead to a high sugar intake, which is just as bad for their physical health as it is their oral health. Sugary residue can cling to the teeth, where it can lead to, you guessed it, tooth decay. Try limiting your kids to four ounces of 100% juice a day and encourage drinking water after drinking juice or even as an alternative.

When they’re older, your kids are sure to thank you that you taught them how to care for their teeth and oral health. Try to remember these tips when it’s time for your kids to brush their teeth before school and before bed.

Mothers Making Money

https://www.pexels.com/photo/marketing-woman-office-working-36990/

As mothers, the demand on our time is often very frustrating, juggling ten things at once, our number one priority, is always, to give our children the attention they require and to be there when they need us. With time often against us, it’s important not to neglect ourselves either, we still need the capacity to earn for our family and not to forget, do the things we enjoy. When it comes to earning a living, we usually fit it in around our children, which means working when they are in school. We all need to make a living and don’t want to be out of the work environment too long, yet it can be a struggle for many to find suitable hours that will not affect their children too much. That’s why a home business or part-time job is ideal for the busy mum.

Making a Living As a Mum

If you bake a lot and it’s something you love to do, or you are crafty and make craft items for fun, have you ever considered starting up a business and selling them online or in your local area? You could have total control when you worked and when the kids needed attention you would be right there for them. You could even get them involved, teaching them and who knows, they may find success with it in the future. Working from home is great for mums as they generally have good time management and organisation skills which is often required when you run a business from home.

Find a Flexible Job

Working part-time is another option to look into. Instead of managing the cost of childcare, you could request hours when the kids are in school. Part-time work with flexible hours such as cleaning or cafe work is ideal for this. This keeps you in the work environment and can give you much needed adult conversation too. It could be very useful if you work a couple of hours in the morning and be able to get home in time for the children. Working part-time may not give you all the finances you need, but you could top it up with blog writing or a home business.

Blogging

Designing your own blog can be really fun. All the content is chosen by you and you are talking about the things you enjoy or have experienced. When you run a business from home and are using a PC or MAC, there are tools that can speed up your tasks and save you time, making your life much easier. Upskilling on a computer is invaluable when it comes to creating a blog or social networking. There are some great guides and technical skills out there, try https://setapp.com/how-to/split-screen-on-mac-for-extra-productivity if you find yourself wreslting with a mac.

For mothers who have chosen to work part-time around their kids, although they might not be making a fortune, they have the satisfaction of being there when the kids need them until they are at an age where they are more dependent. It’s a personal choice for us all and can add personal fulfillment at every level.

4 Changes You Can Expect After Having A Baby

It’s no surprise to say that having a baby changes your life in a profound set of ways. It is one of the biggest changes that can possibly occur, in fact, and you will almost certainly find it challenging to try and accept much of it at first. Something that can help with that is to be absolutely clear on what you can actually expect to change after your have a baby. That is something that you can never know about in full until you experience it yourself, but if you want to get ready for your postnatal life, you will need to think about this to some degree. In this post, we will look at some of the changes you can expect to happen in your life after you have a baby.

Less Sleep

This is one of those aspects to having a baby that people talk about most frequently, and it is certainly something which you will want to try and prepare yourself for. If you are used to having plenty of sleep, you might find it something of a challenge to suddenly have to get by without any, or with hardly any at least. For most people, a lack of sleep results in a loss of ability to think clearly and to manage emotions, and there are plenty of physical health issues which result from no sleep as well. If you want to ensure that you can still get as much sleep as possible, there are a few things you might want to think about doing. For instance, you can learn to meditate, and engage in some meditation as you are getting ready for bed at night. That will mean that you are more relaxed, and will at least enjoy deeper sleep while you are asleep, even if you can expect to be woken up during the night. Focus on trying to get more sleep, and you will effectively be looking after yourself much more.

A Few Stretch Marks

There are, of course, a huge number of bodily changes which you can expect to, and one of the most common ones is stretch marks. If you find that you have developed stretch marks after having a baby, you are not alone. However, you might feel that you want to do something about it as soon as possible, as it can be a very worrying or upsetting problem to have if it sticks around for too long. If your stretch marks don’t seem to be going anywhere and you want to try and get rid of them, you might want to think about looking at this article on how to get rid of stretch marks by Mustela. There are plenty of good ideas there, and hopefully at least a couple will work for you. If nothing else, they are going to be worth trying.

More Stress

It’s no surprise to anyone that having a baby increases stress, but what you should want to think about is finding some kind of a way of effectively dealing with it. As long as you have a good stress management method, you won’t need to be concerned that you are experiencing stress in the first place, as you at least know how you are going to be able to deal with it and make it less of a problem. As it happens, there are a lot of ways to deal with stress, even if it comes in large quantities and at all times of the day. Meditation is one way to ensure that you can keep a lid on your stress, as is getting more sleep, which we have looked into already. Beyond that, merely making sure that you are taking care of yourself can mean that you are going to have much less stress in your life, even if your baby is causing you a lot of hassle and pain. Find some time to get a little exercise, and make sure that you are eating well, and you will find that stress is much less of a problem.

Altered Personal Time

The time that you are able to spend alone changes completely after you have a baby, and before long you will find that you are living in a new kind of world where you never really have many moments alone. This may or may not be a big problem, depending on your natural temperament, and it is something which you might need to do something about should it cause you any psychological problems. The only way to really solve it is to find someone to help you care for the baby, so you can at least get a few moments alone here and there.
