Ah, summer is here and so is the phrase, “I’m bored”. I’ve heard it already! What’s a parent to do?
I would love for my children to use their imagination more often, but now that they are five and twelve and have found the internet it can be tough. They want action and entertainment!
That’s why I took the pledge to Support Imagination over at SupportImagination.com. Here you can sign the pledge, take a fun imagination quiz, read some tips on their blog and check out the “What We See, What Kids See” image gallery. I signed up for emails to give me ideas on how to spark my kids imagination this summer. I’m hoping for some great ideas!
At Pump It Up, we’ve introduced a new campaign, Save Childhood Support Imagination. We want to raise awareness about the importance of imaginative play for kids and urging parents to sign our Imagination Declaration to pledge their support to spend an hour each day engaging in imaginative play with their kids.
This is so true! My children used to love to play with boxes. They could create anything. It’s not as easy as it once was…

We’ve gone to several parties this past year. It seems to be the place to have a birthday party. I love going. My daughter has a blast and I know she will be safe. There are two rooms they can play in. But only one at a time. There is plenty to do – slides, bounce houses and obstacle courses.
