What’s the Difference?

I know what the difference is, but really what’s the difference if I do one or the other?

My hubs never minded when I was reading a good book and read and read. But he minds if I’m on the computer. He doesn’t always say it with words, but I know.

He on the other hand watches TV, all the time.

This is not a complaint post, though.

So what do you think?

Readers, TV watchers or bloggers? What’s the diff?

  1. On the pc, you interact with other human beings. I used to get some flack for Cafemom and chat, but he is okay with it now and even joins in with me sometimes.

Mine gets twitchy with me reading, on the pc, ironing or anything that doesn't involve staring at the tv..I can't just there though it drives me nuts !

Sounds like my boyfriend. He watches way too much TV, but he cannot stand when I am on the computer. He is fine if I read a book though. I think he does not want me to connect with other people on the computer.

I am doing this ‘Boost my blog Friday′ that I saw over at Design It Chics blog and I am now following you! This is such a cool idea isn’t it?! Love your blog by the way – and I have to say that being on the computer is a more worthwhile activity than watching TV simply because it isn't passive, and requires brain activity!! (hope this was the right answer!)

My husband is exactly the same way. He gets frustrated at me for reading blogs online, but he's just as bad with watching the tv. So now we cuddle on the couch while I use the laptop and he watches tv. We both spend time doing what we want without irritating the other.

I love the idea of sitting together while he watches tv and I read blogs and work on mine!

  7. I have been known to sit and read a book in one day.
    But I don't watch much t.v.
Hubby plays his guitars for hours and hours.
So I guess it's all in perspective.

  8. You know, my husband is the same way. It's ok to sit and watch tv for hours, but reading, or on the computer is a waste of time! Go figure???

  9. oooh…I never noticed that before…it's the same thing at my house…my husband, however, sees no prob when he's on his laptop…but if I'm for an extended period of time, he's all-what are you doing over there? what are you looking at?
But if I read, no worries…
    hmmm…interesting…

This sounds like a familiar battle! TV vs. Computer!

Following from Fun Follow Friday. 🙂

  12. My husband can't stand me being on the computer for more than 30 minutes if he is at home. He doesn't get it. He can't focus on anything longer than 30 minutes and doesn't know how others can.

I was just working on a little post about the same thing!I agree with you 100%! I hear the same garbage and yet they can sit on the couch with a remote in their hand flipping thru channels so what is the difference of us with a mouse scrolling the web! It drives me bonkers!

  15. I watch my shows that I've recorded on the DVR *while* I am on my computer, reading email, blogs, etc. In fact, right now I am watching "Parenthood". I can't watch TV without doing something else, too. The good thing is, hubby is the same way! 🙂

  16. hahaha – my husband's problem with me being on the computer versus reading or watching tv is he says I type too loud. LOL! I do, really, but I can't help it. So I tell him to go into the other room if he doesn't like it 😉
