Hubby Garbage Finds

My husband found this out in front of the neighbor’s house on the night before garbge day. It’s a bunch a saws and drills and manly things!

He was looking at it and even asked the neighbor why he was throwing it away. It needs battery chargers, but that’s it!

The neighbor said my hubby could have it. So it was brought home to live with us. Great….another tool he won’t use.

But….

Garage sale day comes and hubby brings it out to the sale – yeah hubby! (it’s hard to part with tools even if he doesn’t use them)

We got $30.00 for it!!

So, basically he found $30 in the trash!

  2. Yea, I love it, when my husband worked in Downtown MPLS at a really fancy Apartment Community where anyone in showbiz or on our sports team plays lives there, well the stuff people with money throw out, We use to have some amazing garage sales!!

  3. Nice, I love it when things work out so awesomely!

  4. Wow! That worked out well!

  5. Lol! Men! My dad had a bunch of tools too, but I hardly ever saw him fix anything!

  6. Money is always a good thing.

  7. HA!! SCORE and dinner is on the neighbor. that is awesome

  8. One persons garbage is another persons treasure. My neighbor had his lawn mower out front and someone rang my doorbell thinking it was mine. I said no, but what did he plan to do with it. He said he brings it to the recycling place for $$. So I took him to my garage where I had an old washer and dishwasher that was going to the dump. My trash was “treasure” for him. And he got permission to take the mower too. I see these people weekly looking for treasure in trash. I don’t know if they are hard-up for money or making a living this way, but either way it’s nice that things are being properly disposed of or helping someone.

  9. Wow, that’s a really nice set of tools! Great find!

  10. That’s pretty awesome. I can’t believe your neighbor would throw that away. I guess they didn’t know there are groups like Freecycle and such. 🙂
