B.I.N.G.O.
My mother was kind forced into retirement two Octobers ago when her job let her go. I think it was because they could hire someone younger and pay them less, but whatever. She’s been collecting unemployment and her social security and living like she’s retired. She should be though, she’s in her early 70’s and deserves it.
She moved to St. Augustine last April, into a retirement community. Basically a trail park for seniors. It’s great, they have bingo weekly, dances, craft fairs and so much more. My mother really loves it.
But…
Her newest crave is the bingo. She plays several days a week, sometimes twice a day and goes to different places to play! She really really enjoys her bingo. I hope she doesn’t start playing bingo on line!
She has these cute little ink bottles shaped like little people. Some of the games have these cool game pieces that you use over and over again. When your number is called you just slide the tab over and a little red screen covers the number. Very cool. I bet they didn’t know that was eco-friendly!!When we go to visit, I get to go with her! It’s really fun being the youngest person there!! Hahaha!! When I go with her, we play several games of each – the eco-friendly version and the old fashioned version, where you ink up the paper.
I guess I’ve always just played plain old bingo, but these people are serious! They have this electronic board that lights up the numbers and a video screen on one end that videos the actual ball picking. (Not sure what that’s called). One thing I thought was very cool, each bingo card, whether it’s the paper version of the re-usable version, has a number on it. When someone wins, they call out their number and the bingo announcer looks up the number and can tell if it’s a winner.
She’s all ready to go! Got her bingo bag and all!! Love you Mom!!

5 nights aweek ! They get addicted ! Good luck, she will probably drag you along.
I live in Vegas so I started tagging along to Bingo with my grandma when I was 16. Yes, you’re supposed to be 21 here but my grandma didn’t care. She’s been gone almost 10yrs now but I still play Bingo about once every 2 months or so with friends! It’s not just for the older crowd here 🙂

LOL My grandma used to be HUGE Into big. She loved it too. It’s a great past time and the best is when someone yells BINGO and everyone is sooo close then the whole room yells Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwww Lol

Totally cute. I went to BINGO this year with my friend Nicole from Nicole’s Nickels this year and we had a blast.
Glad that your mom gets treated well at the retirement community. She’s got good taste in games. I enjoy playing Bingo too. At the campground where we go on weekends, there’s the card ones with the red sliders. Seems like Bingo has gotten pretty advances, with the caller being able to automatically tell if it’s a winner. Pretty neat.
That’s awesome. I’ve always wanted to go play BINGO but have yet to.
I used to run bingo fundraisers, and it’s way too serious for me, lol. I’m glad she likes it though!
