What a cool find! I’ve never heard of a Purple Starfish either!
How pretty! The coolest starfish I ever saw were in Samoa – they were a deep blue and almost like plastic bath toys. Photos didn’t do them justice.

That’s really neat! I use to love starfish until I found one on the beach, brought it back to my condo thinking it was dead then it started moving. It still gives me the willies thinking about it.

I have a pale lavender one, but never have seen a purple one either. I hope the ones I do have were dead when they were gathered, as I would rather leave them in the ocean or the beach. Have you noticed there aren’t many shells on the beaches and never any big ones. In Hawaii, you can’t take shells of any kind. If you do, they will confiscate them. They do not want them leaving Hawaii.

that is so cool! I have been lucky enough to visit my son in CA 2x and I have looked for star fish to no avail… all I found was a broken shell of some kind, LOL!
