Publix Italian Days

I was sent a gift pack and a Publix gift card. All opinions are my own.

Italian food is always a huge crowd pleaser. Whether you’re feeding your hungry family or hosting a household of friends, everybody loves the taste of al dente pasta, a rich sauce or a delicious pizza. At the Italian Days event at Publix® from February 20th through March 5th, you can find delicious recipes and get savings on some of your favorite General Mills and ConAgra brands like Progresso, Green Giant, Pillsbury, and Hunt’s Tomatoes. Visit to find 8 great recipes and highlights of the items on sale.

I chose to make soup. It’s still a little chilly in North Florida and my mother had made a really good soup the other day and I wanted to try to make it myself.

I went to Publix and picked all the ingredients. It is Italian Days at Publix so several of my ingredients were on sale. Yeah!

I went on what my mother told me and bought a rotisserie chicken, Progresso Broth, white beans, diced tomatoes, carrots, frozen spinach and noodles.

I’ve always followed a recipe before so to wing it was a little different. I basically added all of this together with a few spices and water and set to boil, then simmer.

Homemade soup
It looked good and tasted good. But the next day when I went to get some there was no broth! I added too many noodles and they took all the broth away. So will have to add some more broth. Thankfully it was on sale, Buy One Get One Free.

Did you shop at Publix this week?

I'm a mother of 2 who likes to get involved in too much! Besides writing here I started a non-profit, I'm on the PTO board, very active in my community and volunteer in the school. I enjoy music, reading, cooking, traveling and spending time with my family. We just adopted our 3rd cat and love them all!
