A Wild Soap Bar Review and Giveaway

I’ve extended this to Jan 18th!!

Want a great place to get handmade soaps? A Wild Soapbar is that place.

Their handmade soaps are specially formulated to deliver the very best in skin care while using only safe, truly natural ingredients. They never use solvent extracted pomace olive oil (even though it’s much cheaper), harmful synthetic chemicals, preservatives, petroleum products, artificial dyes, or synthetic fragrance oils. Why? Because natural matters! With so many companies falsely claiming to be “all natural”, they’re proud to say that their commitment to natural is real.

From the site:
We handcraft our soap using the slow cold process method, which means no external heat is used so the goodness of the natural ingredients are preserved for you. Each bar begins with a high percentage of skin-loving cold pressed olive oil to which we add food grade coconut, organic palm, high oleic sunflower and castor oils for a rich creamy lather that nourishes as it moisturizes. Next we add responsibly wildcrafted and organic botanicals, vegetable butters, and cleansing earth clays for their exceptional skin care benefits. Finally, we scent our fragrant olive oil soaps with only pure essential oils extracted from plants . . .fresh clean scents, the way mother nature intended.

When you visit A Wild Soapbar you can sign up for their newsletter and get skin care tip.

A Wild Soapbar sent me a sampler pack to try out and one to give away!
Each pack includes: eight popular 1 oz. wild soap bars (bluebonnet, desert sage, prickly pear, horsemint, mustang grape, sassafras, cedarwood, yucca root) wrapped in corrugated and tied up with raffia. Tag identifies soaps by color. A fragrant and colorful assortment for travel, special guests, or the soap connoisseur.

Want to win a sampler pack? Visit A Wild Soapbar and tell me about it.

  48. I thought A Wild Soap had a thoughtfully presented website (rare for a small company!). The marble magnets made by the owner's granddaughter are precious – I remember trying to sell all kinds of handmade things when I was her age. Too bad the Internet wasn't that well-developed in the 90s.

As for soap, I'm interested in the Sunflower soap – haven't seen that type of soap before!

i love smelly and natural stuff but find that i'm sensitive to certain synthetic fragrances–but since it's just listed as 'fragrance' i can't really tell in advance what i'll love and what will trigger a headache. so i'd love to try this brand!

  178. I learned that Cold process soap or real soap won't melt that easily in the microwave unlike fake ones. This company also customizes soap depending on your needs

    huggie0109@yahoo.com

  179. I visited A Wild Soap Bar and I learned how to look for REAL SOAPS! Armed with a little bit of knowledge, real handcrafted natural soap is fairly easy to spot. First, it should say "soap" on the label. By law, fake soaps can't use that term so they call it a "beauty bar" or a "moisturizing bar" or some other nonsense. Next, look for soaps with cold pressed or extra virgin olive oil as a main ingredient which is rich in antioxidants and skin nutrients. Most evil corporate soaps contain very little or none because it's quite expensive, and those who do often use pomace olive, an inferior grade of oil extracted with harmful chemical solvents.

The Why Natural Soap? page is very eye opening, with the microwave test, how to spot synthetics.Especially disturbing is the info about Triclosan, the common antibacterial agent.I love their products with natural antibacterials. My favorite though is the Zirklz, with money from each sale going to the local food bank.
