I don’t normally make “resolutions” for myself at the beginning of the year like so many do, but this year is different. I want to be healthy and fit and here’s what I plan to do.
1. Exercise – yes I know we all want to exercise right? Well my girlfriends and I are all sharing our DVDs and getting into shape. This way we’re not stuck on the same workouts. I will also be walking during my lunch time. I’ll bring a small lunch I can eat at my desk and then walk for 20 minutes during my actual break.
2. Less stress – I will enjoy my family more and worry about the small stuff less. I am so thankful for all that I have and want to worry less about what I don’t have.
3. Eating better meats – I’ve been buying lean hamburg and am looking into ground turkey. Not sure if I can sneak it by my family but I’m trying.
4. Eating better fruits and veggies – We have a local nursery right down the street, but I hardly ever shop there, it’s always easier to buy it Publix. Well not this year, I’m buying local produce that’s better for me and the environment.
5. No soda – I’m on my way to no more diet coke.I usually drink 2 cans of diet coke a day. I’ve started drinking tea and only 1 diet coke and will eventually stop all together. I mean I still like it and may drink it on occasion but not every day.
Twittermoms and Ebisoft Entertainment has teamed up for a great sweepstakes where you can win a copy of Your Shape with Jenny McCarthy. They are asking the question “What are my Top 5 New Year’s Resolution for getting healthy & fit in 2010?”
Your Shape for Wii and PC creates a workout program completely personalized to you based on your fitness level, goals and schedule. The game’s motion-tracking camera detects your moves so Jenny McCarthy, your in-game guide, can correct your form – all while you exercise controller-free!
What will you do in 2010 to be a healthier and more fit you?
Your Shape is great…I got to try it out from a Houseparty I hosted. Just Dance, which also came, is great too!
I actually prefer ground turkey to ground beef…but some people like the beef taste! Maybe you could try combining them if that's not gross LOL
Already following you 🙂
Thanks for the follow! I am following you back! : )
I know what you mean about the Diet Coke, not only is it an expensive addiction but it's unhealthy! I am cutting down on it right now in hopes of eliminating it totally. I only drink about 2 cans a day, but stressful days I end up drinking 4.
I've been vegan now for about four years, and my DH2B has been vegan for 5 so I don't have to worry as much about us trying to eat quality veggies and fruits. BUT I do want to try to make our own breadstuffs more often instead of buying it and try to eat new grains (we tend to stick to quinoa and rice).
Also I want to run again! I have downloaded all the ipod workouts for the Couch to 5K program but it's been SO COLD lately I haven't started it yet (Today's forcast: 3 degrees!).
