How many of us moms or even non moms put others before ourselves? That’s the way we’re wired. The women I work with always make sure their husbands and kids are getting regular check ups, but not themselves. I know I would forgo my once a year doctor if I didn’t need those little pills. 🙂
The American Cancer Society has launched a new nationwide movement to shine the spotlight on a sobering statistic: one in three women will get cancer in her lifetime. Choose You (http://www.chooseyou.com/) is designed to inspire women to take action and put their health first in order to stay well and help prevent cancer.
According to the American Cancer Society, about half of all cancer deaths could be prevented if people maintained a healthy weight through diet and regular exercise; avoided tobacco products; and got recommended cancer screening tests. Wow! But we all know it’s not that easy to incorporate these healthy behaviors into our busy lifestyles. I want to exercise everyday, but by the time I get home from work and either make dinner or help and do this and do that. I don;t always get to go exercise. I am trying though.
The Choose You campaign is being launched to help motivate women to prioritize their health and engage in lifestyle behaviors that can help reduce their cancer risk. By committing to their health, these women will be better able to care for their families and serve as role models for their children, families, and friends.”

I need to begin exercising regularly and get fit. I think I do a pretty good job of eating healthy, but I tend to work all day, come home and being a couch potato with my book! Exercise is definitely needed!

My youngest daughter is a 13 year Cancer survivor. I think this is a wonderful campaign. Mother's are forever doing for everyone first when they are the thread that holds their families together. Who need this the most.I would love to stop smoking and loose weight.

I definitely want to eat better! I like the junk food. We will be receiving a CSA box every week starting at the end of July, so I can wait to try the fresh veggies/fruit/herbs with no chemicals!
