Over spring break I made bird feeders with Savannah. This is something that can be done during the summer too!
We went to our park and found several pine cones. I gathered birdseed, peanut butter, honey and some yarn. I mixed the peanut butter and honey together, then rolled a pine cone into the mixture. The pine cone was then rolled into the birdseed and the yarn attached. Viola!
