My daughter watches in awe as my son pedals around on his bike, scooter, roller blades, etc. Of course she wants to do that! I’ve gotten her a hot wheels bike and she just sits on it and kinda walks with it. She can’t use the pedals yet.
We were able to review a Strider Pre Bike about a month or so ago and Savannah loves that it looks just like a her brother’s bike! She gets it out and tries often. She’s not perfected it yet, but she’s getting there. The Strider Pre Bike comes with no pedals. So the child can learn balance and coordination before learning to pedal. Usually they just scrap the legs on the pedal trying to do this with a regular bike. Now they don’t have to.
Strider says – “If your toddler can walk, your toddler CAN ride a Strider. Never need a tricycle. Never need training wheels.” The Strider is made for children ages 1-5.
Even tiny little children, before the age of two, are drawn to the Strider. At first, kids will grab the handle bars, straddle the bike and walk without ever sitting down on the seat. That’s were Savannah’s at. And they’re completely stable: Two wheels, front and back. Feet firmly on the ground. Hands bracing the handle bars. Visit Strider’s website for videos and more information!
Strider Pre Bike has kindly offered one Mommy Has to Work reader a bike of their own! To enter visit Strider Sports and tell me one thing you learned.

I learned that Bike riding becomes a breeze when you teach your child balance and coordination before pedaling. The Strider™ takes pedaling out of the mix so that kids can concentrate solely on learning balance, which takes more practice. Pedaling is a secondary skill that kids can easily learn within a few short minutes. amypugmire@live.com

I've learned that children have the ability to perform in many different ways we never knew how. I was watching youtube videos of this 19 month old boy riding a strider bike and I was so amazed at his tricks. Yes training a child is a benefit in the long run. Children are capable of many things. I've always wanted one for my boy and my daughter. THey both could benefit from it!! Cross my fingers!!
