WNBA – Family Event

I was given a wonderful opportunity to go to an Indiana Fever Woman’s Basketball game, however I gave the tickets to my sister-in-law and her family. (Being that I live in Florida) ,here is her story of the experience.

So, I should admit that I am not a big basketball fan. I have watched a couple of games on TV (probably because I was too lazy to get up and get the remote), but I have never seen a live game. But when I was given the opportunity to go to an Indiana Fever game with my family, I jumped at the chance. There are not many affordable activities that you can do as a family anymore. So off we went, myself, my husband and our three boys, ages 15, 12 and 10. The 15 year old went with a slight amount of kicking and screaming, but when asked, after the game, how did you like it, he replied “the pizza was really good”. I think that was “teenager” for “I liked it”.

The game itself was fun, and the Fever won, so that made it even more enjoyable. Due to the fact that our youngest two boys have autism I was a little concerned that they would have a difficult time sitting through the game, but we decided that we would stay as long as they would tolerate it. We were also concerned about the noise and the crowds. Fortunately, this was not an issue for us. One of the great things about going to an Indiana Fever game is that there is entertainment during each time-out. There was a dance troupe that can out, and they were very good. The music was current and the kids loved it. Their mascot, Freddie Fever, brought out the t-shirt cannon a few times, and one of my boys actually caught a shirt. We were also there on “Adopt a Pet Night” and during the half time, there was a Frisbee Dog Troup that entertained. We had tickets to the autograph session after the game, but by that time, the boys had reached their threshold and we decided not to stay.

All-in-all, we had a great time and we will definitely go again. Thank you Indiana Fever organization for the tickets.

I’d like to say thank you to the WNBA and One2One Network for being able to provide this wonderful opportunity to my family. They even got shirts to wear to the game!
