Living in South Florida Spanish is the second language. Sometimes it seems like the first language. I took many years of Spanish in middle school and high school. Can I speak it? Not really. I never practiced it and spoke it outside of class.
Working in a doctor’s office and dealing with many Spanish speaking patients, I did learn how to make appointments and such in Spanish, but that’s about it. When I was pregnant with my son, I had grandiose ideas of him learning Spanish as a baby and having it be a second language or attending one of the local schools where they teach in Spanish/English. None of that happened.
I still want to learn Spanish and would love my kids to learn it as well.
I reviewed No Work Spanish, which are books on CD. I listened to The Poster Girl on the way to work for a few days. The book is read in sentences, once in English, then in Spanish. Then the entire chapter is read in Spanish. I really enjoyed the books. Can I speak it fluently now, no. I need to listen more often. But I think it’s a great way to learn and easy too.
My only advice for the company is to do books for young children. I’d love to have Savannah listen and learn with me.
You can try it out for free too! The first three chapters of their most popular book is available to try out for free! They will email it directly to you so that you can start experiencing the difference No-Work Spanish can make. No-Work Spanish is available in an audio CD, and through several music download sites, including ITunes.
Check them out at http://www.noworkspanish.com/ and on Facebook too!
This is a Mama Buzz review. I received audio books to review from the company, this did not affect my opinion.
Just listening to it does help you pick it up. I learned a ton just from listening to Spanish radio stations a long time ago. I did it on purpose to challenge myself. But I like the one sentence in English, one in Spanish thing.
