Does anyone use coffee tables for coffee anymore? I mean like how they were back in the day. Well, for me that means 30 years ago!
When we went shopping three years ago for new living room furniture, coffee tables were not on my list. When I think of them, I think of head injuries from little people.
But we did buy a cool ottoman that transforms into a coffee table, sort of.
It’s a double ottoman that you can store games or blankets in. The lids turn over to reveal a hard surface, where you can place drinks or puzzles. Savannah likes to turn them over and do puzzles.
Then there are end tables. My husband’s bed is pretty much the couch. He has a bad back and that’s where he is most comfortable. Next to “his” bed, he has this little bitty end table. It’s kind of pathetic if you saw all that he puts on it. Water bottle, coffee mug, candy and notes. The problem? He spills things, cause the table is too small.
When we bought all the other furniture, I tried to get him to choose a new one. No.. he wouldn’t do it. So now we has this little tiny table to put all his things on. I need to just go out and buy him one.
Which one? I want another cube that can be used to store stuff in! I can just flip the lid to have a hard surface all the time and viola! More storage. I kinda like this one!
I would love one of the sofa tables that go behind the sofa or on a long wall. I could put it where we used to have the fish tank. But then it would probably get a bunch of stuff put on it, like the mail, purse, phone…etc. Nah, I think I’ll pass, I have enough places to pile stuff!!

What kind of coffee table do you have?
Ours is glass. Me no likey. It was a hand-me-down from my mom who LOVES glass. I like the 3rd picture down with the drawers. That looks like a cute nightstand.
As of right this moment, we don’t even have one!
Ours just gets piled with books.
Mine is currently piled with newspapers, coupons, and 2 XBox game controllers. ~lol~
We don’t do coffee tables since I use the living room as my workout area. We do have side tables that usually end up being toy tables, lol. Kids!
Mine is used for storageā¦I’m not sure we’ll even replace it, because we don’t use it. We need one with drawers.
I have always had coffee tables. I really like them.
I got rid of all my end tables when my babies started walking to many bumped heads.
We HAD a sleek dark grey metal and black glass coffee table/end table trio. I broke one of the end table glasses by setting a lamp dome with hot bulb on it. My DS broke the coffee table glass playing. The black glass is hard to find, so now we have none. :/
