Let Me Tell You A Story….

Let me tell you a story….

My boss or co-worker, she doesn’t like to be called the boss, had a broken dishwasher. It had been broken for a a week or two and she kept asking her husband to call the repair man. Her husband wanted to just go buy a new one, but what if it can be repaired for less?

Finally the repair man comes and says, nope – you need a new one. Go pick one out and I’ll install it and minus my bill today. My friend asked her husband to ask about the size, because, they’re different sizes, right? He doesn’t ask.

They go to the store, pick out a new one and bring it home. The husband is home with the repair man when he installs it. My friend comes home and finds that she can’t open her drawer while the dishwasher is shut. She must open the dishwasher first, then open the drawer!! (see above pic)

Huh?

The two men knew this and thought nothing was wrong! Is this a woman thing? Maybe, but I certainly wouldn’t like it!

Had they had a home warrenty plan, some of this could have been avoided. The repair came back and tried to fix it, but it’s not the right size. So now they have to take it back and exchange it.

American Home Shield has different types of home protection plans for different people.

What is a home protection plan? I never heard of it before. Basically it’s a service contract that covers the repair or replacement of your home appliances.

I never knew! I just call the repair man and pay him a fee, whether he fixes it or not, then go out and buy a new one, if need be.

They cover items like the air conditioning, the heating, electrical and plumbing. Ceiling fans and doorbells? Really?

Of course there’s the usual appliance like your dishwasher, fridge, oven and washer and dryer.

Because we live in Florida, I’m going to tell her about the Florida home warranty and I hope she calls them to check it out, I know I am. My washer and dryer are on their last legs!
