Elmo Makes Music

We were able to go see Elmo Make Music a couple weeks ago! My son, who is twelve did not want to attend, so my daughter and I went without the boys. We had a great time. There was lots of music and laughter!

And dancing your seats!! The characters even came out into the audience to great some of the children. All our favorite characters were there. They even did a letter and number of the day with the Count!

Big Bird sang Savannah’s favorite song, Rockin Robin!!

And of course the star of the show, Elmo!!

Here are some facts about Elmo I got form Jacksonville.com. Enjoy!

Elmo through the years

1979 A furry red monster that looks suspiciously like Elmo  makes an appearance on “Sesame Street.” It’s known simply as Baby Monster or  Little Monster.

1981 Elmo first appears as Elmo on “Sesame  Street.”

Elmo appears in the book “The Sesame Street Circus of Opposites,” his first  illustrated appearance.

1984 Elmo makes his first big-screen appearance, in a  wedding scene in “The Muppets Take Manhattan.”

1985 Kevin Clash begins providing the trademark voice (and  endless giggle) of Elmo.

“St. Elmo’s Fire” is released. Fans are disappointed that Judd Nelson, Emilio  Estevez, Ally Sheedy and Demi Moore are in the film, but Elmo isn’t.

1996 “Elmo’s Potty Time,” one of dozens of videos starring  Elmo, is released.

Tickle Me Elmo becomes the hottest toy of the holiday season. More than a  million are sold that year alone. Later variations include Limbo Elmo, Hokey  Pokey Elmo and Chicken Dance Elmo.

1997 “The Best of Elmo” is released on cassette and CD.

1998 ABC airs “Elmopalooza.” A CD of performances from the  show features the Fugees, En Vogue, Jimmy Buffett, Mighty Mighty Bosstones and  others.

“Elmo’s World” makes it debut as a regular 15- to 20-minute segment of “Sesame Street.”

1999 Elmo receives top billing in the theatrical release “The Adventures of Elmo in Grouchland,” co-starring Mandy Patinkin and Vanessa  Williams.

Fox TV airs “CinderElmo.” Co-star French Stewart rates Elmo’s acting talent  behind only Pacino, Brando and Streep.

2000 Elmo appears on “Donny & Marie” and reveals that he  doesn’t care for Brussels sprouts.

2009 Elmo sings the “Sesame Street” theme song with The  Roots on “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon.”

2010 “Ask Elmo,” a video segment where readers can ask  questions of Elmo, first appears on YouTube.

Elmo and pop star Katy Perry duet on “Hot N Cold.” The segment is pulled by “Sesame Street” over concerns that Perry’s outfit is too racy. She later  parodies the incident on “Saturday Night Live.”

We received complimentary tickets to see the show. Opinions are my own.

I'm a mother of 2 who likes to get involved in too much! Besides writing here I started a non-profit, I'm on the PTO board, very active in my community and volunteer in the school. I enjoy music, reading, cooking, traveling and spending time with my family. We just adopted our 3rd cat and love them all!
